Drive innovation, value-led engineering and investment planning decisions to support the Transmission project programme while reducing asset lifecycle costs.<ul><li>Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver efficient, cost-effective design solutions.</li><li>Oversee front-end engineering design across the full SPT Transmission project portfolio.</li><li>Identify and implement engineering improvements within standard design solutions.</li><li>Ensure the team is effectively resourced and support organisational change to achieve business objectives.</li><li>Embed Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements into all engineering solutions.</li><li>Solve complex engineering challenges through technical expertise, innovation and sound engineering judgement.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery and business performance.</li><li>Define engineering scope during the early project development phase.</li><li>Provide technical advice on emerging business requirements and future network needs.</li><li>Lead, develop and performance manage a team of professional engineers.</li><li>Support training, coaching and mentoring to build team capability and succession.</li></ul>What you’ll bring<ul><li>Degree qualified in Engineering.</li><li>Chartered Engineer status.</li><li>Strong experience in the design and delivery of large-scale electrical infrastructure or transmission projects.</li><li>Proven leadership and people management skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.</li><li>Experience applying CDM regulations, designer risk assessment and Health &amp; Safety best practice.</li><li>Knowledge of innovative engineering technologies and sustainable design solutions.</li><li>Understanding of transmission plant, equipment and network operation.</li></ul>Minimum Criteria<ul><li>Engineering qualification (BSc/BEng) and/or postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc) or equivalent experience.</li><li>Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.</li><li>Experience in electrical infrastructure and transmission network design.</li><li>Previous people management experience.</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
