Main responsibilities <ul><li>Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in dcbel products.</li><li>End to end ownership of hardware – from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation and high-volume manufacturing.</li><li>Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and firmware engineering teams to design, validate and manufacture power converters.</li><li>Actively participate in the certification process by supporting the testing and providing solutions when needed. </li></ul> Key requirements <ul><li>8+ years of relevant hands-on hardware experience in power converter design (AC/DC, DC/DC &amp; DC/AC).</li><li>Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent; Masters or PhD preferred.</li><li>Experience with high bandiwth power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFET’s), gate drive and protection circuit design.</li><li>Experience with UL and/or CE electrical safety requirements and certification, and EMC requirements relevant to the design of power converters.</li><li>Experience with design of analog/digital circuits and micro-processors.</li><li>Experience in design and supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition and EMC optimization.</li><li>Excellent understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC &amp; DC/AC).</li><li>Excellent understanding of thermal design.</li><li>Excellent understanding of the theory and application of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors (Electrolytic, film and Ceramic) used for power conversion.</li><li>Familiar Altium Designer.</li><li>Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation: Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, Signal Generators.</li></ul> Bonus skills <ul><li>Experience designing grid tied photovoltaic inverters according to UL 1741SA/SB an asset.</li><li>Experience designing bi-directional DC Electric Vehicle chargers according to UL 9741 and UL 2231 an asset.</li></ul> Profile <ul><li>Entrepreneurial mindset and strong EQ.</li><li>Autonomous, have ease in learning, good teammate, communication and problem-solving skills.</li></ul> What's in it for you:<ul><li>Lead the clean-energy transition by getting to work on category-defining products that give people more choices to live sustainably.</li><li>Be part of a company that is backed by numerous globally respected investors and has world-changing patents in an industry changing for the first time in history.</li><li>Grow your professional experience amongst blue chip partners and a close-knit team of committed and experienced energy experts who deeply care about the work they do.</li><li>Full benefits package including Health insurance, Health virtual care, employee stock options plan (ESOP) and flexible hours.
