<h2><strong>About the Role</strong></h2><p>Muon seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Simulation team. An ideal candidate is an expert generalist software engineer who is as comfortable building reliable web services as they are delivering high-performance compute jobs. In this role, you will be a major contributor to the best-practices and architectural direction of our Simulation tools. You will work with your Simulation Engineer teammates to integrate our simulation models into complete products, and you'll contribute to the design, development, and delivery of these products to stakeholders across the company. </p><p>This position is hybrid and requires working on-site in our San Jose, CA office three days per week.</p><h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Build and support in-house simulation services which meet the needs of stakeholder teams like business development, mission design, operations, and ground and flight software engineering</li><li>Break down complex technical goals into detailed and well-explained proposals</li><li>Collaborate with the team's physical-modeling experts to integrate simulation models into complete products</li><li>Integrate feedback from client teams to drive iterative improvements to our simulation products</li><li>Expand test coverage by developing novel off-nominal test scenarios</li><li>Work closely with the Software Test team to integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns</li><li>Lead by example with reliable estimation and planning</li><li>Ensure team alignment with company goals and success against performance metrics</li><li>Mentor Simulation and Test team engineers</li></ul><h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>Proven ability to collaborate with specialized experts to deliver complex, cross-functional products</li><li>B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field</li><li>8+ years' experience as a software engineer in a team environment</li><li>Strong programming experience in Python and C++</li><li>Willingness to operate in novel technical domains</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills</li></ul><h2><strong>Nice-to-have Skills</strong></h2><ul><li>Experience with numerical simulation techniques</li><li>Fluency in statistical analysis</li><li>Knowledge of the Julia language</li><li>Familiarity with Linux systems administration and Docker containers</li><li>Familiarity with cloud deployment environments, like Kubernetes and virtual instances</li><li>Experience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation</li><li>Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices</li><li>General familiarity with orbital satellite operations</li></ul><h2><strong>Salary</strong></h2><p>The salary range for this role is <span>$213,000 - $237,000,</span> plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
