At Hitachi Global Air Power, you will be part of a global network that is shaping the future of industrial power.Summary of the position:The Wirer is a highly visible front-line position working with a production team of Wirers. This role will require quick decision making, assertiveness, great communication, and organization to meet production expectations and customer needs. Each Wirer is accountable for producing defect-free product within specifications. This position is located at the manufacturing plant of Hitachi Global Air Power in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the area Supervisor. Duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Wire product models to P&amp;I, assembly drawings, WD drawings, and Work Instructions.</li><li>Complete P&amp;I, WD, and Blueprint training.</li><li>Install heat trace per P&amp;I, WD, and Work Instructions.</li><li>Complete basic computer training.</li><li>Utilize SAP, QMS, and Operator Portal for daily activities.</li><li>Pass utility wiring qualifying exam.</li><li>Pass lockout-tagout training and be comfortable working on high-voltage (575V) machines.</li><li>Progression to wire all standard products model, at least (4) station built model families, and in-house starter boxes.</li><li>Systematically troubleshoot electrical failures and assist in determining solutions.</li><li>Notify Supervisor, Quality, and/or Engineering of BOM or part quality issues.</li><li>Follow non-conformance part procedure.</li><li>Flex between production lines and starter box wiring based upon production demands.</li></ul>Qualifications:Education:<ul><li>High school education or equivalent.</li><li>Must have the basic reading skills necessary to perform the functions of the job.</li></ul>Professional experience:<ul><li>Basic computer skills.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot problems.</li><li>Basic understanding of electricity and motor control systems.</li><li>Capable of reading and understanding bills of material (BOM), piping and instrumentation (P&amp;I) drawings, wiring diagrams (WD), and Work Instructions (WCI).</li><li>Must be involved in 6S activities, value stream mapping, TPM, and collection of QCPC data.</li></ul>Key behaviors:<ul><li>Lifting up to 35 lbs.
