We are looking to appoint a new Project Engineer to support the delivery of this portfolio.  </h2><h2></h2><h2>As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering site works in or for the railway environment.  This includes a wide range of installation, testing, commissioning, and configuration activities across radio, fibre and transmission disciplines. </h2><h2></h2><h2>The role holder will work alongside a Work Package Manager, Design Engineers and other specialists to develop and implement project plans.  </h2><h2></h2><h2>This role is based at Waterloo working a minimum of two days per week from the office, in line with current SRS policy.</h2><h2></h2><h2></h2><h2><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></h2><h2></h2><ul><li><h2>Assessing task-specific access requirements and making all necessary arrangements for the planned works to go ahead.</h2></li><li><h2>Writing work instructions, risk assessments, and/or method statements, which identify hazards and specify safe systems of work.</h2></li><li><h2>Allocating the correct combination of competent and certificated staff to complete planned works within agreed budgets.</h2></li><li><h2>Producing installation, testing and commissioning estimates for new projects</h2></li><li><h2>Manage and resolve on site quality issues such as snags and NCRs.</h2></li><li><h2>Managing materials including call-offs.</h2></li><li><h2>Procuring and managing labour subcontracts.</h2></li><li><h2>Perform periodic site inspections to monitor progress on site.</h2></li></ul><h2></h2><h2></h2><h2><b>Technical Skills and Experience</b></h2><ul><li><h2>Proficiency in interpreting technical documents and transforming them into clear and concise work instructions.</h2></li><li><h2>Competence in evaluating complex situations and creating solutions that incorporate technical, logistical, and interpersonal dimensions.</h2></li><li><h2>The ability to use digital tools to access and maintain detailed project records.</h2></li><li><h2>Skill to organize intricate tasks with various dependencies.</h2></li><li><h2>Capability to handle a significant and shifting workload through prioritization and deadline adherence.</h2></li><li><h2>Knowledge of APM Project Management framework</h2></li><li><h2>Understanding of relevant technical standards related to the railway environment.</h2></li><li><h2>Experience working or planning works in a railway environment, London Underground and/or Network Rail</h2></li><li><h2>Foundation of knowledge in telecoms and/or related disciplines.</h2></li><li><h2>Hold or be able to hold a range of safety-licenses related to work on track, in equipment rooms, or other rail-related environments.</h2></li></ul><h2></h2><h2></h2><h2><b>Human Skills</b></h2><ul><li><h2>Strong stakeholder management skills – both internally and externally</h2></li><li><h2>Highly organised</h2></li><li><h2>Effective prioritisation</h2></li><li><h2>Excellent problem solver</h2></li><li><h2>Able to context switch between large scale projects and nitty gritty detailed delivery</h2></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What We Can Offer</b></p><p>We’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best.
