What You’ll Do<ul><li>Design mechanical components, assemblies, interfaces, and environmental packaging for rugged outdoor electromechanical products.</li><li>Support product development from concept through launch, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule goals.</li><li>Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.</li><li>Use tools such as 3D CAD, tolerance analysis, and FEA to guide design decisions.</li><li>Partner with electrical, software, firmware, systems, manufacturing, quality, testing, supply chain, and product management teams.</li><li>Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and regulatory activities.</li><li>Provide sustaining engineering support for released products, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design changes.</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners on tooling, qualification, manufacturability, and production support.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.</li></ul>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</li><li>3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, new product development, sustaining engineering, or a related product support role.</li><li>Experience with 3D CAD and product data management tools.</li><li>Experience with product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul>Preferred QualificationsCandidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply:<ul><li>Experience with rugged outdoor, metering, sensor-based, or high-volume electromechanical products.</li><li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, casting, machining, stampings, or powdered metal.</li><li>Experience with Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) and Windchill.</li><li>Finite element analysis (FEA) experience.</li><li>Familiarity with GD&amp;T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability.</li><li>Experience with ANSI, AWWA, ASME, UL, or Intrinsic Safety requirements.</li></ul>Why Join XylemAt Xylem, you’ll help develop technologies that make a meaningful impact on utilities, infrastructure, and communities worldwide.
