As the Body Structures Engineer, you will work across all aspects of the body including the body-in-white structures, crash structures, underbody, surface technologies and the integration of these systems into a brand new vehicle architecture.</p></div><br><br><h3>In this role, you will: </h3><ul><li>Conceptualize, design (2D and 3D), and lead development/release of vehicle body components/assemblies to meet cost, weight, performance requirements </li><li>Develop short and long term schedule/plans for component development, release, delivery, and validation</li><li>Define/negotiate requirements and specifications for body systems to achieve best in class performance in structural, NVH, and crash performance; including DFMEAs, DVP’s and PVP’s, APQP</li><li>Support validation testing for component/vehicle </li><li>Support material and manufacturing process decisions both internally and externally</li><li>Work cross functionally and collaborate with peers, styling studio, packaging, CAE/attribute/test teams, management, manufacturing, suppliers</li><li>Develop processes, procedures and best practices for Body design and development</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>B.S. in mechanical engineering equivalent or higher</li><li>4+ years experience in automotive body system design/engineering (OEM/supplier, university SAE team, or equivalent)</li><li>Knowledge/experience in vehicle engineering, automotive body systems design and engineering fundamentals, body materials and manufacturing processes, and component delivery</li><li>Experience with the development of specifications, DFMEAs, DVP’s and PVP’s, APQP and other technical and quality assurance processes </li><li>Experience in engineering best practices including design for six sigma (DFSS)</li><li>Ability to implement GD&amp;T and dimensional engineering principles in design</li><li>Proficiency with CATIA V5 or V6 CAD software</li><li>Strong communication/collaboration skills with peers, suppliers, manufacturing, management</li></ul><h3>Bonus Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience at automotive OEM</li><li>Knowledge of automotive development/release process</li><li>Polarion, Jira, and Confluence experience.</li></ul><br><div><br></div><div><b>About Zoox</b></div><div>Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.
