You will collaborate closely with vehicle attribute teams, CAE engineers, suppliers, and system owners to deliver innovative suspension structures from concept through production.  Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead the design and development of chassis structural components from initial concept through production launch. </li><li>Define component requirements based on vehicle performance, durability, ride, handling, NVH, and safety targets. </li><li>Develop technology roadmaps and identify innovative solutions for future vehicle programs. </li><li>Drive engineering excellence at both the system and component level with exceptional attention to detail. </li><li>Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering team members. </li><li>Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to achieve optimal system integration. </li><li>Coordinate virtual engineering activities and physical validation testing to ensure robust designs. </li><li>Partner with the CAE team to develop and optimize new vehicle architectures and structural concepts. </li><li>Manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment. </li><li>Enhance and maintain foundational engineering documents, including DVP&amp;R, DFMEA, interface diagrams, and boundary diagrams. </li><li>Review and approve DVP&amp;R documentation, control plans, and other engineering deliverables. </li><li>Champion the use of AI-driven engineering and simulation tools to reduce dependence on external support and physical testing. </li><li>Investigate and implement advanced joining and manufacturing technologies. </li><li>Support technology, supplier, and system selection decisions for future vehicle platforms. </li></ul>Required Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li><li>8+ years of automotive industry experience, primarily focused on chassis mechanical design. </li><li>Proven experience designing and releasing components from concept through production. </li><li>Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, development, and troubleshooting. </li><li>Experience in technology evaluation, supplier selection, and system architecture development. </li><li>Strong 3D CAD skills, project leadership experience, and mentoring capabilities. </li><li>Experience with engineering release processes, change management, and project management. </li><li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as required. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>10+ years of automotive industry experience. </li><li>Advanced proficiency with CATIA V5 and/or CATIA V6. </li><li>Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, NVH, crashworthiness, and chassis performance attributes. </li><li>Experience performing and teaching CAE analysis methods and simulation tools. </li><li>Knowledge of automotive mechatronic systems, controls, and integrated chassis technologies. </li><li>Experience applying AI and data-driven engineering methods to accelerate product development and decision-making. </li><li>What Success Looks Like </li><li>Delivers innovative, production-ready chassis structures that meet performance, quality, timing, and cost targets. </li><li>Serves as the technical authority for chassis structural components within the organization. </li><li>Drives continuous improvement in engineering processes, simulation methodologies, and AI-enabled development tools. </li><li>Mentors engineers and elevates the overall technical capability of the chassis engineering team. </li></ul><div> </div><div>At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
