<h2>Overview</h2>We are designing the Grid of the futureWe are seeking to grow our Distribution Design Engineering Team and would like to hire candidates who can complete design tasks with minimal oversight and can learn quickly and provide training to other staff while ensuring that EPE’s reputation for providing clients the highest level of quality is maintained. <h2>Responsibilities</h2>How you can make an impact:System Design, Engineering and Supervisory roles:<ul> <li>Create distribution design sketches and supporting documents per the Client’s distribution design guidelines and standards.</li> <li>Specify distribution construction standards.</li> <li>Review, approve and stamp distribution designs and drawings.</li> <li>Specify necessary materials per Client distribution construction standards.</li> <li>Perform and provide cost estimates to customers.</li> <li>Support distribution designers with customer related issues and expectations.</li> <li>Prepare new drawings utilizing AUD which is similar to AutoCAD.</li></ul>Perform all necessary steps to produce and release to Client design drawings, including:<ul> <li>Field inspects pole locations.</li> <li>Stake pole locations.</li> <li>Create unique tracking numbers for each pole/project location.</li> <li>Coordinate with Client’s internal stakeholders including Construction, Civil Inspection, Forestry, Public</li> <li>Maintain knowledge of current procedural/process documents.</li> <li>Create and update process documents as needed</li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation of project correspondence, project schedules/timelines</li> <li>Provide professional and timely communication with the client, other contractors, and utility customers as well as other project stakeholders</li></ul>Field inspect locations of the impacted field locations to gather necessary information for design purposes.<ul> <li>Perform and/or check engineering calculations to determine and confirm design feasibility.</li> <li>Create distribution construction notes.</li> <li>Specify materials required for distribution construction projects.</li> <li>Perform and provide cost estimates to customers.</li> <li>Follow Client approved safety procedures both in the office and in the field.</li> <li>Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li> <li>Other distribution engineering and design services as required such as permitting or project coordination</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here what’s needed:<ul> <li>Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university/college. <ul> <li>Preferably an Electrical Engineering degree but a Mechanical Engineering degree is also acceptable</li> </ul></li> <li>Experience with electrical power calculations</li> <li>Familiarity with the NESC and NEC</li> <li>Experience with Utility Work Management Systems (WMIS, Dynamo, SAP)</li> <li>Experience with Utility Design and Construction Standards</li> <li>CAD Experience (AUTOCAD/MicroStation or similar)</li> <li>Must have experience using ESRI ARC GIS or AUD/AutoCAD Experience</li> <li>Consulting Experience preferred</li> <li>Ability to travel to client site  </li></ul>How we support you:<ul> <li>Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for you.</li> <li>Generous PTO and paid holidays</li> <li>Work with industry leaders</li> <li>401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)</li> <li>Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities base on position.</li></ul> Location: This position is primarily Hybrid/Remote, however the successful candidate should be within commutable distance to Austin, Texas to support occasional travel to client and field sites.Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less) EPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
