We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.</p></div><p>The Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement develops and executes enterprise-wide sourcing and category-management strategies across Enviva's purchased goods, equipment, and services - including MRO,  spare parts, capital equipment, &amp; contract and professional service. Reporting to the VP, Capital Projects &amp; Procurement, this role leads a team of procurement professionals to deliver cost savings, mitigate supply risk, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive value across all sites and marine terminals.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, lead, and execute strategic sourcing and category-management plans across assigned spend categories, such as MRO, spare parts, capital equipment &amp; contract and professional services, to deliver total-cost-of-ownership savings and value.</li><li>Own the end-to-end sourcing process, including spend analysis, market and supplier research, RFP development and execution, bid analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, and contract award.</li><li>Lead complex commercial negotiations and draft, negotiate, and administer supplier contracts, master service agreements, and pricing agreements in partnership with Legal and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Build and maintain a supplier relationship and performance-management program, including supplier qualification, scorecards, business reviews, and continuous-improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers.</li><li>Partner with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, capital projects, and finance &amp; accounting to understand requirements, forecast demand, and align sourcing strategies with operational and business objectives.</li><li>Develop and deploy supply-risk mitigation strategies - assurance of supply, supplier diversification, commodity and tariff exposure, and single-source risk - to protect continuity of operations across all sites and marine terminals.</li><li>Establish, document, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and workflows, and drive consistent, compliant sourcing practices across the enterprise.</li><li>Identify, quantify, and track cost-savings and cost-avoidance opportunities, and report savings and category performance against targets to procurement and business leadership.</li><li>Define, measure, and report key procurement metrics and KPIs, such as savings, spend under management, supplier performance, and cycle time, using data to drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and sourcing professionals, setting priorities and building organizational capability. Many of these procurement professionals sit at each of our plant and port locations.</li><li>Leverage ERP and procurement systems and analytics tools to improve spend visibility, streamline the procure-to-pay process, and enhance decision-making.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize specifications, consolidate spend, and capture leverage across sites and business units.</li><li>Monitor market trends, commodity dynamics, and supply-base developments, and communicate implications and recommendations to stakeholders.</li><li>Support the buildout &amp; management of a SKU catalog driving on-SKU addressable spend to &gt;90% across the enterprise</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with experience in procurement and sourcing.</li><li>Competence in strategic sourcing, category management, competitive bidding, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.</li><li>Contract negotiation and supplier-management skills across direct and indirect spend categories.</li><li>Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor procurement teams.</li><li>Must be data-driven with a high level of attention to detail and strong analytical and financial acumen.</li><li>Experience with ERP and procurement or spend-analytics systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle, or similar).</li><li>Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously.</li><li>Demonstrated sense of urgency and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and present to diverse audiences</li><li>Ability to develop and implement strategic plans through persuasion, education, and collaboration.</li><li>Ability to work independently and make effective, critical decisions, often with limited information and oversight.</li><li>Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and include others across the organization.</li><li>Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn other applications related to the job.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart</strong></p><ul><li>Professional procurement certification such as CPSM, C.P.M., or CIPS.</li><li>Experience sourcing for manufacturing or industrial operations, particularly MRO and capital equipment categories.</li><li>Experience with Power BI or comparable data-visualization and spend-analytics tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Travel requirements</strong></p><p>Some travel as needed to support site, terminal, and supplier visits.</p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.</li></ul><div><p>This position is not eligible for visa support.</p><p><strong>EEO Statement </strong></p><p>Enviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
