Reimagine What’s Possible  General Duties Technician is responsible for providing maintenance support across production facilities and associated satellite sites. The role is primarily hands-on, focusing on practical maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and ensuring a safe and well-maintained working environment.The primary purpose of the role is to support assigned production facilities, ensuring that all general duties activities are completed efficiently and to a high standard.This position requires a flexible and proactive approach, with an expectation to respond to requests across multiple locations as business needs dictate. Support may be required both during and outside normal working hours; therefore, the successful candidate must be adaptable, dependable, and readily available to meet operational requirements.Working Hours<ul><li>Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:00pm</li><li>Friday: 8:00am to 3:00pm</li></ul>What will you do?<ul><li>Ensure all production facilities are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition, enabling them to consistently achieve their performance targets.</li><li>Ensure compliance with site statutory requirements, mechanical integrity programmes, and preventative maintenance schedules.</li><li>Carry out routine housekeeping and preventative maintenance activities</li><li>Support corrective maintenance activities associated with plant and equipment failures (breakdowns).</li><li>Work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance team to ensure the effective management of spare parts and consumable inventories.</li><li>Coordinate and oversee LOLER and PUWER inspections on site.</li><li>Refer to the separate accountabilities document for additional responsibilities.</li></ul>What are we looking for?<ul><li>GCSEs in Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant experience in a similar role.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, including interactions with customers, regulatory bodies, and OSC operators.</li><li>Ability to work independently and remotely, with a willingness to travel frequently between sites.</li><li>Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.</li><li>Able to work at pace and perform effectively under pressure.</li><li>Experience working within industrial environments.</li><li>Industrial or plant maintenance experience.</li><li>Full UK driving licence preferred.</li><li>FLT (Forklift Truck) licence/certification preferred.</li></ul> Founded in 1940, Air Products is a world-leading industrial gases company and has a proud history of innovation, operational excellence, with an unwavering commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
