In this role, you will lead a team of process engineers, equipment engineers, and technicians responsible for the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our electrode production lines — spanning powder handling, mixing, and roll-to-roll tape formation processes. You'll bring strong technical judgment grounded in material science, along with a data-driven approach, to guide your team in diagnosing process issues, prioritizing improvement projects, and implementing robust, high-impact solutions on the floor. You will own staffing, coaching, and performance management for your team, while partnering with cross-functional engineering leaders to translate process and materials insights into meaningful, lasting manufacturing improvements. Relocation assistance is available. <h3>What you'll do:</h3><ul style=""><li>Own the section's operating results across powder handling, mixing, and roll-to-roll tape formation, holding your team accountable for line cadence, downtime, and overall throughput</li><li>Manage and develop a small, mostly-engineer team of process engineers, equipment engineers, and technicians, including staffing, coaching, and performance decisions</li><li>Establish and track section-level metrics (OEE, yield, cycle time) and direct resourcing toward the highest-impact bottlenecks across each process step</li><li>Set methods and standards for evaluating and vetting floor-level solutions, ensuring fixes across the powder-to-tape process are safe, robust, and grounded in sound material science before scale-up</li><li>Represent the section in cross-functional planning with peer engineering and manufacturing teams, resolving constraints that affect quality and throughput company-wide</li><li>Build and prioritize a continuous improvement roadmap for the section, balancing waste reduction, ergonomics, and process reliability against production demands</li></ul><h3>What you'll bring:</h3><ul style=""><li>Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field</li><li>7+ years in manufacturing/production operations, including team management experience</li><li>Strong material science foundation — able to connect powder properties and tape mechanics to process outcomes</li><li>Proven track record hiring, developing, and managing process/equipment engineers or technicians</li><li>Deep familiarity with manufacturing metrics (OEE, downtime) and a root-cause approach to problem-solving</li><li>Working knowledge of roll-to-roll processes — powder transformation, mixing, web handling</li><li>Strong influencing skills and experience representing your team's priorities to peer managers and engineering leadership</li><li>Pragmatic, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity as the organization scales </li></ul><h3>Where you'll work: </h3>This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA.
