We partner with them to anticipate and respond to evolving business needs with innovation in sensing and communications technologies, data analytics and services.Brief Description/Job Summary: Mechanical Design EngineerGCC Vadodara campus seeks to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer who can contribute to the growth of Xylem's India Technology Center and its expansion into disruptive technology and business solutions. The position involves playing a key role in advancing Xylem water treatment technology capabilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting Xylem’s water treatment projects by providing high-quality mechanical design and engineering deliverables. The role focuses on order engineering activities such as design, submittal preparation, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective execution of customer projects. If you are excited and passionate, we want to hear from you!Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: <ul><li>Work with the Engineering project team to design process equipment systems including process piping, control panel, valves, instrumentation, and other project relevant equipment.</li><li>Work well with a team, communicate clearly internally and externally and be very organized and detail oriented.</li><li>Execute equipment sizing/selection and detailed design for order engineering projects.</li><li>Review contract specifications/plans</li><li>Preparation of O&amp;M Manual, Bill of Materials, and cost estimation</li><li>Prepare and review 2D/3D CAD models, submittal and fabrication drawings, and manufacturing deliverables.</li><li>Provide engineering support across the order cycle, from design through fabrication and delivery.</li><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional and regional teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.</li><li>Independently manage assigned tasks, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.</li></ul>Must Have:<ul><li>Proficiency in at least one CAD platform: Solidworks preferred; Creo/Inventor welcome.</li><li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD.</li><li>Solid understanding of mechanical system design, application, and manufacturing.</li></ul>Good to Have:   <ul><li>Knowledge of piping/structural design and GD&amp;T.</li><li>Knowledge of UV, aeration and wastewater treatment systems</li><li>Experience with water/wastewater projects and OEM environments.</li><li>Familiarity with engineering submittals, fabrication processes, and shop drawings.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and regions.</li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>4-Year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.</li><li>0-3 years of progressive experience in the relevant field</li><li>Exposure to fabrication/manufacturing drawings and submittal processes preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of various water treatment technologies and technological advancements.</li></ul>Xylem offers you an exciting career in an international environment, with a global network of sales companies, suppliers and manufacturers.
