Your mission<br>                We are seeking a motivated Junior Fermentation Scientist to join our biotechnology team and support the development and optimization of microbial fermentation processes. This is a hands-on laboratory role with a strong focus on planning and executing fermentation experiments, from shake-flask cultivation to bench-scale fermentations. <br><br>You will work independently at the clean bench, prepare andoperate fermentation experiments, and monitor relevant process parameters and performance<br>indicators. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing key process and product KPIs using bioanalytical methods such as SDS-based analysis, enzymatic assays, and HPLC, as well as evaluating, documenting, and reporting experimental results. <br><br>The role offers a high degree of autonomy in organizing your day-to-day laboratory work, with responsibility for ensuring that experiments are thoroughly planned, executed, analyzed, and documented. You will contribute directly to improving our microbial fermentation workflows and advancing robust and scalable bioprocesses.<br><br><ul><li>Plan, prepare, and perform microbial cultivation and fermentation experiments, ranging from shake-flask cultures to bench-scale fermentations of up to 5 L</li><li>Carry out laboratory work under aseptic conditions, including work at the clean bench and the preparation of culture media, buffers, solutions, and reagents</li><li>Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain bench-top fermentation systems and associated laboratory equipment</li><li>Monitor fermentation performance and evaluate relevant process and product KPIs throughout experimental campaigns</li><li>Perform bioanalytical characterization of fermentation samples using methods such as SDS-based analysis, enzymatic assays, HPLC, and other relevant analytical techniques</li><li>Evaluate experimental data, identify trends and deviations, and summarize results in a clear and structured manner</li><li>Document experiments thoroughly and learn how to prepare concise reports of experimental results and conclusions</li><li>Organize and prioritize your laboratory activities independently, ensuring that experiments are properly planned, executed, analyzed, and documented within agreed timelines</li><li>Contribute to the maintenance and organization of microbial strains, cell banks, laboratory materials, and equipment</li><li>Collaborate closely with colleagues across different disciplines and contribute to the continuous improvement of our fermentation processes and laboratory workflows</li></ul>            Your profile<br>                <ul><li>A degree or vocational qualification in biotechnology, microbiology, bioprocess engineering, biological laboratory technology (e.g. BTA), or a related field</li><li>Practical experience working under aseptic conditions and confidence in standard microbiological and biotechnology laboratory techniques</li><li>Hands-on experience with microbial cultivation; experience with shake-flask cultures and/or bench-scale fermenters is highly desirable</li><li>Familiarity with the preparation of culture media, buffers, solutions, and reagents, as well as accurate sample handling and laboratory documentation</li><li>Experience with, or a strong interest in learning, analytical methods for evaluating fermentation samples, such as SDS-based analysis, enzymatic assays, and HPLC</li><li>A structured and reliable approach to experimental work, with the ability to independently organize laboratory activities and follow experiments through from preparation to data analysis and reporting</li><li>A practical, hands-on mindset combined with curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to troubleshoot and learn new techniques</li><li>A collaborative and team-oriented approach, while being comfortable taking ownership of assigned experiments and project tasks</li><li>Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
