Hi! We're Forerunner.
We're on a mission to help communities adapt to a changing world. Forerunner builds modern, easy-to-use software for the people who keep communities running. Local governments, federal agencies, and infrastructure operators use Forerunner to run inspections, enforce codes, manage public works, respond to disasters, and meet their regulatory obligations.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead product for the Field Intelligence team. You’ll own the strategy and roadmap for how Forerunner helps field teams understand what needs attention, capture trustworthy information, and turn their findings into action. This includes mobile and offline workflows, AI-guided inspections, geospatial context, photo and voice capture, operational visibility, and the connection between field observations and downstream compliance or corrective-action workflows. This is a high-ownership role for a hands-on product builder who enjoys getting close to users, making sense of complicated operational environments, and turning that understanding into clear product direction and tangible solutions. Depending on the problem, that might mean sketching a workflow, building a lightweight prototype with modern tools, digging into usage data, writing detailed product behavior, or working directly with customers to test the riskiest assumption. You’ll work closely with Engineering and Design from discovery through delivery, while partnering with Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to ensure what we build is adopted and creates measurable value.
What you’ll do

Own the product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Field Intelligence, from work planning and data capture through review, follow-up, and resolution.

Spend time with inspectors, field crews, program managers, and operational leaders to understand how work happens in practice.

Identify the highest-leverage opportunities for AI to improve fieldwork while preserving user control, transparency, and trust.

Partner closely with Engineering and Design to frame problems, evaluate tradeoffs, define requirements, and ship polished end-to-end experiences across mobile and web.

Define how we measure success, including adoption, task completion, data quality, time saved, issue-resolution time, and customer outcomes.

Lead product discovery through interviews, workflow observation, prototypes, pilots, usage data, and structured experimentation.

Balance immediate customer needs with investments in shared platform capabilities, reliability, and long-term product differentiation.

Develop thoughtful rollout and change-management plans for workflows used in regulated and operationally critical environments.

Equip Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing with a clear product narrative, launch materials, demonstrations, and the context needed to support adoption.

Communicate priorities, decisions, risks, and learnings clearly across the company.

What we’re looking for

5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of a complex product area from discovery through launch and iteration.

Excellent product judgment. Forerunner is a Series B company building the AI-powered intelligence layer for government agencies and regulated industries — helping large cities and counties finally make sense of the data they already have. Here's the problem we're solving: cities spend millions on permit systems, GIS, and asset management tools, but still can't answer their most important operational questions. Data sits fragmented across systems that don't talk to each other. Valuable observations from field crews never get captured. And none of today's tools help agencies connect the dots and take action.Forerunner sits on top of the tech stack agencies already have. We connect their existing systems, give frontline teams an AI-guided mobile experience to fill the gaps, and turn fragmented information into decisions and actions that reduce liability, surface revenue, and prevent issues from becoming emergencies. We serve nearly 200 governments across the country — and we're growing fast.
