This role also includes hands-on laboratory work, including setting up and performing mechanical tests, documenting and analyzing results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Position Responsibilities<ul><li>Apply fundamental mechanical engineering principles to design innovative pressure containment vessels and related products.</li><li>Understand machining and fabrication processes, including their capabilities and limitations, and incorporate manufacturability into designs.</li><li>Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings that advance product designs from concept through commercialization.</li><li>Maintain design documentation within SolidWorks PDM.</li><li>Organize and maintain the mechanical testing laboratory while conducting tests to validate product performance and mechanical integrity.</li><li>Document, analyze, and communicate test results through established reporting methods.</li><li>Design casting molds and components that integrate with existing manufacturing processes and equipment.</li><li>Collaborate closely with plant engineering and manufacturing teams to support seamless implementation of new products.</li><li>Develop test plans and coordinate prototype manufacturing activities.</li><li>Participate in hands-on laboratory testing, data collection, and troubleshooting activities.</li><li>Work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations personnel to deliver practical and innovative solutions.</li><li>Support a culture of safety by maintaining laboratory safety standards and best practices.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).</li><li>1+ years of experience in product design, equipment design, or mechanical engineering utilizing SolidWorks.</li><li>Experience creating CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.</li><li>Experience working in a laboratory or testing environment, including test setup, data collection, and interpretation of results.</li><li>SolidWorks certifications and Design for Six Sigma experience are considered strong assets.</li><li>Understanding of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or product development processes.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse cultures and organizational levels.</li><li>Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.</li><li>Willingness to travel domestically as required.</li></ul> What's In It for You:  At Air Products we foster a culture of inclusion where every voice is heard, and everyone feels they belong and matter.
