From early concepts to prototypes and prototypes to production ready designs, you ensure our products are robust, reliable, manufacturable and scalable. You will rapidly prototype, iterate and test physical designs, while managing external engineering partners.You will work closely with product management to align engineering priorities and anticipate the latest insight from customers. You will join the Mechanical engineering Team and you will be reporting to the Team Lead Mechanical engineering. In your daily work, you will collaborate with colleagues from Electrical engineering, Software engineering, Manufacturing and Supply chain teams.Together, you will help build and improve the capabilities that enable Rocsys to scale.In this role, you will● Design and develop innovative hardware -Own the mechanical system design, development, and optimization of one of Rocsys’ core products. -Generate new concepts and develop them into detailed designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions. -Develop robust mechanical solutions, including mechatronic components such as actuators and sensors. -Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and continuous improvement based on test results. ● Improve reliability and scalability -Drive improvements in product reliability, performance, cost, and manufacturability. -Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles and work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs can be produced efficiently at scale. ● Collaborate and contribute to engineering excellence -Align on requirements and priorities with product management and give input to project management on planning.  -Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration between mechanical, electrical, and software components. -Distribute work and coordinate with external engineering partners when additional expertise or capacity is needed. -Contribute to improving engineering processes, technical standards, and ways of working within Rocsys. What you bring to RocsysYou are an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where technology, collaboration, and ownership come together.You are motivated by bringing innovative products from idea to reality and solving complex technical challenges and you are excited to contribute to building solutions with real-world impact.Essential:<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. </li></ul><ul><li>7+ years of professional experience in mechanical product development.  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience taking products from concept through prototyping, testing, and into production. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong experience with 3D CAD design (SolidWorks experience preferred). </li></ul><ul><li>Experience designing mechanical and/or mechatronic systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and design considerations for production. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience working with prototypes, testing, validation, and design improvements. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience coaching or mentoring other engineers. </li></ul> Nice to have:<ul><li>Experience with sheet metal design, welding and plastic components. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience working in robotics, automotive, or other high-tech product environments. </li></ul>Your way of working● Structured, proactive, and able to take ownership.● Comfortable collaborating with different disciplines.● Hands-on and solution-oriented.● Curious, open-minded, and eager to learn.● Strong communication skills.● Motivated by working in a growing, international scale-up environment.Don’t meet every single requirement?  OUR STORY
 In April 2019, Crijn Bouman and Joost van der Weijde start Rocsys B.V. Not much later Kanter van Deurzen joins the team. Crijn has a 15 year track record in the fast charging industry, Joost has a PhD degree in robotics, and Kanter has an intensive industry background in computer vision. This lays a strong foundation to create innovative solutions for automated EV charging. 
 

 The backing by professional investors created budget to increase the speed of the developments. Through several design iterations and pilot projects, we have created an automated charging solution that is safe, reliable and cost efficient. With more than ten technicians in the team we are ready to scale up further.
