This role builds them.</p><p>The work spans capacity expansion, dispatch and price models, all running inside the Modo Energy platform. You will own a piece of it: a market, a model, or a part of the stack, and take it from a question about how the market behaves through to code that runs in production.</p><h2>What you will do</h2><ul><li><strong>Build models.</strong> Write and maintain the dispatch, price and capacity expansion models for the markets you cover.</li><li><strong>Learn your markets.</strong> Know how your ISOs clear energy and ancillary services, and what changed last month.</li><li><strong>Test your own work.</strong> Backtest against market outturn, find where the model is wrong, and fix it.</li><li><strong>Explain the results.</strong> Show colleagues and clients why the model produced the number it produced.</li><li><strong>Work with other teams:</strong><ul><li><strong>Research</strong> - take their read on what is changing in the market and build it into what you model.</li><li><strong>Engineering</strong> - tell them what the modeling stack needs.
