The role provides technical leadership and oversight for substation electrical (physical) design work performed by internal and contract engineering resources. The types of projects include modifications, expansions, or developments of new Duke Energy electric substations in Florida. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering design packages, developing and implementing engineering processes, training and mentoring engineers within the group and leading teams. The Lead Engineer is at the specialist level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level independently solve complex problems, manage work, and provide technical leadership in their areas of specialization with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.
