We are seeking a Communications Manager to apply communications expertise to effectively increase and manage Solar One’s visibility as one of NYC’s premier environmental education nonprofit organizations, and engage and attract new audiences. Main Job Responsibilities: <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Assist in developing and implementing Solar One's communications strategy, including tools, techniques, and timelines to share details of the programs and events of Solar One’s program teams. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Coordinate and produce video, photography, graphics, visuals, and messaging in partnership with Solar One teams, engaging and managing external consultants as needed. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Lead external cross-channel organization-wide and program-specific initiatives, e.g., website and social media, coordinating with the Chief External Affairs Officer. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Collaborate with Solar One Teams on marketing content (print, digital, social, radio/audio). <ul> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Plan the quarterly communication implementation schedule with the Chief External Affairs Officer and Managing Directors, supporting each of Solar One’s key programs (GDL, GWF &amp; CE, HCS, Park, the S1 Environmental Education Center, The Brant, Community Power Campaigns) and Solar One overall. </li> </ul> </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Manage Solar One’s brand awareness and organizational adherence to Solar One’s brand strategy. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Participate in planning and implementing Solar One’s special events, including fundraising, donor cultivation, and visibility-raising events, ensuring graphics, signage, invitations, program books, and other collateral meet Solar One’s branding standards and quality expectations. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Prepare and finalize materials, including the Annual Report, Solar One Overview, and S1 Environmental Education Center presentations, visuals, and impact stories </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Collaborate and coordinate organic outreach and advertising efforts for Solar One-wide and key programs with a focus on supporting conversion goals (e.g., event ticket sales, website visits, field trip booking boosts, venue rentals, etc.) </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Support the Development and External Affairs Manager with monthly newsletter graphics, images, and content review. </li> </ul> Required Education and Experience <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Bachelor’s Degree with 3- 5 years of experience in communications/marketing </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Experience in video editing and photo quality management </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Strong communication skills, including in-person, email, phone, and video conferencing etiquette </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Excellent creative problem-solving ability. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Demonstrated fluency in social media platform management, including community building, analytics, campaign strategy, and management. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Experience with WordPress is required. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Advanced MS Office, Google Suite, and computer skills; fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications; and familiarity with other commonly used creative design tools and content management systems. </li> </ul> Pay and Benefits This position is Full Time / Exempt Paying $72,000-$78,000 per year (salary based on experience) Solar One’s full-time employment benefits include: <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Health care and well-being programs, including medical, dental, vision, EAP </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> 4 weeks of paid time off that increases with tenure </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Life and disability insurance </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Paid Holidays </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> 401(k) retirement savings </li> </ul> Solar One is an equal opportunity employer.
