Your demonstrated commitment to safety along with a strong operational understanding of safety risks in mining environments, and ability to mentor employees to support a safe work culture will supplement AECOM’s existing safety culture.Responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Working closely with AECOM personnel in LATAM to develop and implement mine closure plans and remedial solutions for clients in the private and public sector that meet regulatory requirements and protect human health and the environment.</li><li>Collaboration with, and coordination of, diverse technical teams including hydrologists, hydrogeologists, geochemists, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, water treatment specialists, biologists, revegetation, costing specialists, etc. to develop integrated mine closure plans that meet technical and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Reviewing technical work plans and cost estimates; interpreting data; conducting remediation/closure technology evaluations and feasibility studies.</li><li>Technical and financial management of projects to meet commitments on budget, quality and schedule.</li><li>Development of proposals, delivery of projects, and technical review of reports for regulatory submission (e.g., studies, research projects, closure plans, permit applications, management plans).</li><li>Periodically attending site visits to proposed, operating or closed mines in support of client relationship building, proposal development and project delivery.</li><li>Business-development activities including building and maintaining existing and new client relationships, tracking marketing leads and project opportunities, developing proposals and presentations, networking, and sharing AECOM’s capabilities with existing and potential clients.</li><li>Additionally, the selected candidate will be involved in client and regulatory communication, staff mentoring.</li><li>Stay updated on evolving regulatory frameworks and industry guidelines, ensuring AECOM remains at the forefront of compliance.</li></ul> Business Development<ul><li>Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the tailings management sector across Mexico and LATAM. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their tailings management needs. Lead proposal development, including scoping, budgeting, and preparing technical content.</li><li>Perform the client-facing role of Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on small to medium projects managing a multi-disciplinary team and project controls staff. Deliver the project in a timely manner to expected quality and allocated budget.</li><li>Collaborate with the marketing and business development teams to grow AECOM’s market share in the tailings sector.</li><li>Represent AECOM at industry conferences, professional associations, workshops, and client meetings to enhance visibility and thought leadership.</li></ul>Team Development and Mentorship<ul><li>Mentor and train junior and intermediate engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.</li><li>Provide technical reviews and guidance to ensure the quality and consistency of project deliverables.</li></ul>
