That transition is what this role is about.THE ROLEAs a Finance Manager working with global teams, you will own the finance function for the markets assigned to you. You will lead month-end, half-year and year-end closing, protect the integrity of the General Ledger, and make sure reporting and tax compliance meet local market requirements. You will also oversee the payables, receivables, cash and payroll-related accounting that keep those markets running, support audits, and give commercial teams clear numbers and commentary they can act on.You will lead a small team and work closely with the other Finance Managers, the wider finance team and local advisors. The role suits someone who wants real ownership in a fast-paced, growing business, and who is happy to get hands-on with any financial question or project and to work across time zones with colleagues in other markets.Zoomo leaders have a servant mindset in how they work with their teams and customers.<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Accounting Operations</li><ul><li>Own the monthly, half-yearly and yearly closing processes for your assigned markets, delivering to agreed timelines</li><li>Manage the General Ledger and ensure the accuracy of numbers for internal and external reporting, including local market compliance</li><li>Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and variances are resolved promptly, maintaining the integrity of the financials</li><li>Oversee AP/AR, account reconciliations and cash management for your markets, and help optimise working capital</li><li>Complete financial consolidations and intercompany reconciliations with the team</li></ul><li>Reporting &amp; Analysis</li><ul><li>Deliver timely, accurate internal reports and monthly management accounts, with commentary on balance sheet movements and income statement variances against budget and forecast</li><li>Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for your markets</li><li>Identify financial risks and opportunities, and support cost optimisation aligned with budget goals</li><li>Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including local operations and leadership teams</li></ul><li>Compliance, Tax &amp; Audit</li><ul><li>Oversee tax compliance for your assigned markets, including direct and indirect taxes (e.g. VAT, GST, sales tax), working with local tax advisors and accountants where required</li><li>Support the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and annual tax returns</li><li>Prepare for and coordinate Group and local audits, ensuring timely completion</li><li>Ensure compliance with local regulatory and reporting requirements</li></ul><li>Payroll</li><ul><li>Work with People and Culture and Global Payroll to ensure payroll is accurately accounted for, compliant and timely in your markets</li><li>Maintain payroll-related accounting records and help resolve payroll queries</li></ul><li>Process &amp; Systems</li><ul><li>Drive process and efficiency improvements to shorten the month-end timeline and help the function scale</li><li>Document processes and share good practice with other team leads across markets</li><li>Support inventory and fixed asset accounting for hardware and asset-heavy operations</li></ul><li>Team Leadership</li><ul><li>Lead, develop and manage the performance of your direct reports</li><li>Provide direction, coaching and support, and help plan hiring as the business grows</li><li>Work with other team leads to keep the finance team efficient and aligned</li></ul><li>External Relationships</li><ul><li>Represent Zoomo with local auditors, accountants, tax advisors, banks and other external partners for your markets</li></ul></ul>Requirements<ul><li>5+ years of in house in accounting, including month-end and year-end close ownership</li><li>Previous experience managing a team (minimum 2 people)</li><li>Sound understanding of IFRS and/or local GAAP, and of general ledger maintenance</li><li>Audit exposure</li><li>Tax exposure in the markets assigned to the role (highly desirable)</li><li>Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany reconciliations</li><li>Experience with inventory and fixed assets, ideally in a hard-asset or hardware business (highly regarded)</li><li>Experience working in a multi-country business (desirable)</li></ul>Skills:<ul><li>Solid understanding of business processes and how they can scale</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently and make decisions where required</li><li>Clear and timely communication, including with non-finance colleagues</li><li>Ability to operate as part of a wider team towards improving the function</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel</li><li>Xero knowledge or exposure would be a bonus</li><li>Fluent in English</li><li>Fluent or professional level in the local language of your assigned market(s), e.g. Spanish, French or German</li></ul>Qualifications (nice to have):<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field</li><li>Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CPA, or local equivalent) preferred</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Base Salary €45,000- €50,000 depending on experience</li><li>Zoomo e-bike - an employee bike to live and breathe the brand, plus a serious staff discount</li><li>Wellbeing - free, unlimited access to online mental health and wellbeing support</li><li>Flexibility - hybrid working, part-time flexibility where the role allows, and two weeks a year to work from anywhere</li><li>Social - regular events run by our Joy Division — pub nights, team drinks, wellness initiatives and more</li></ul>Zoomers currently represent 45 nationalities and we celebrate diversity and inclusion with equal opportunities for all.
