Climate Robotics is a Series A stage company well-capitalized by top VC investors in climate tech, including Congruent Ventures, Grantham Foundation, and Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund. The Role:Climate Robotics is seeking ambitious and skilled Electro-Mechanical Technicians to join our trailblazing team. In this multifaceted role, you'll use your expertise to help develop cutting-edge pyrolysis systems. Prepare to tackle hands-on challenges that will push your technical abilities to new heights while working on pioneering projects that drive real impact.What You'll Do:<ul> <li>Dive into the exciting world of pyrolysis system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization</li> <li>Collaborate with engineers to enhance design and operational efficiency</li> <li>Ensure quality through meticulous inspections of parts and assemblies</li> <li>Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance with precision</li> <li>Hit the road when needed, traveling to customer sites for expert support</li> <li>Master inventory management, keeping our well-oiled machine running smoothly</li> <li>Operate heavy machinery like forklifts, telehandlers, and cranes with skill and safety</li> </ul>What You'll Bring:<ul> <li>A wealth of hands-on technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems</li> <li>The ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and manuals</li> <li>Mastery of wiring techniques, electrical theory, and safety practices</li> <li>Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic component selection, installation, and maintenance</li> <li>A keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving</li> <li>The drive to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a close-knit team</li> <li>A commitment to maintaining an organized and clean work environment</li> <li>Experience with heavy machinery (a definite plus!)</li> </ul>RequirementsMechanical Skills:<ul> <li>Lay out, measure, mark, and set up components for assembly or installation.</li> <li>Cut, shape, drill, and fit metal components and parts using hand, power, and machine tools.</li> <li>Assemble and install machinery, equipment, and structures by joining components using methods such as welding, brazing, riveting, and bolting.</li> <li>Align and adjust machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair or maintenance procedures.</li> <li>Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment as required for repairs or maintenance.</li> <li>Test and calibrate machinery and equipment after assembly or repair to ensure they meet specifications.</li> </ul>Electrical Skills:<ul> <li>Read/interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and manuals for proper wiring.</li> <li>Expertise in electrical theory: voltage, current, resistance, power.</li> <li>Understand wire types, insulation ratings, ampacity, and voltage ratings. </li> <li>Proficient in wiring techniques: routing, termination, connectors.</li> <li>Skilled in using electrical tools: strippers, crimpers, multimeters.</li> <li>Knowledge of grounding, bonding, and electrical safety practices.  </li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot/test circuits using meters and testing equipment.</li> </ul>Hydraulic/Pneumatic Skills:<ul> <li>Read and interpret piping layouts and circuit diagrams</li> <li>Understand the required specifications, such as flow rates, pressures, and power requirements.</li> <li>Knowledge of component selection (pumps, valves, cylinders, filters, accumulators)</li> <li>Component prep (inspection, cleaning, lubrication)</li> <li>Mounting and positioning components per design</li> <li>Piping/tubing installation using proper techniques</li> <li>Component connections following cleanliness protocols</li> <li>Fluid filling and air bleeding</li> <li>Electrical/control connections and programming</li> <li>System testing, adjustment, and leak rectification</li> <li>Installing safety devices (relief valves, guards)</li> <li>Final inspection and documentation</li> </ul>Work Environment:<ul> <li>Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position</li> <li>Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted</li> <li>Regularly work around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
