Climate change is real and we need to act fast. Our purpose is to restore the carbon balance in our atmosphere. Are you ready to join us on our mission? 🌎Role As a scale-up, the team at Carbyon is experiencing quite a steep growth curve. We will be building several DAC machines soon, filled with our own-invented active material. As this is the ‘heart’ of our machine, the active material is of paramount importance. And while our own-invented active material fundamentally works, every improvement makes our machines even more efficient. In the end, we want to capture CO2 faster with a lower energy consumption!  Given that, our scientists work on different characteristics of this active material, to increase the performance. As this is an iterative process (going back and forth with different type of samples), it comes with a lot of testing for CO2 adsorption on a smaller scale. This is being done on in-house built equipment, focused on both high throughput tests as well as under realistic conditions.While interfacing with our researchers, it’s up to you to very accurately run those tests based upon given procedures. As it comes with a standardized procedure, it’s quite a challenge to operate consistently. Essentially, to limit the human variable within the context of those tests.  Next to performing those CO2 adsorption experiments, your role comes with proper documentation of the tests results, enabling the researchers to take the next step in the industrialization process. As you’ll work with in-house built equipment your role occasionally comes with troubleshooting when the equipment isn’t behaving properly. When you’re not able to fix it, you’ll check in with the product owner of the specific equipment to fix the issue. Bottom line, an exciting role that requires laser accuracy in an innovative and dynamic lab environment. Responsibilities While we did our utmost best to give you a colorful context as given above, we’d also like to put your responsibilities in a few bullets. Simply to recap your responsibilities a bit more clearly. As you can see, we’ve divided this into four building blocks, including a fair estimate of time you’ll spend on each of them.Performing experiments (60%) <ul><li>Performing CO2 adsorption experiments. </li></ul><ul><li>Properly documenting the experiments executed. </li></ul><ul><li>Perform analytical procedures. </li></ul><ul><li>Collect samples and other relevant data. </li></ul>Research support (20%) <ul><li>Assist in the implementation of research projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Setting up processes, sorts, measures and labels samples. </li></ul><ul><li>Carry out protocols and care instructions. </li></ul>Data collection and analysis (10%) <ul><li>Collect, describe, and document data to support research projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain lab and logs. </li></ul>Trouble shooting (10%) <ul><li>Acting 1st line according to SoP.</li></ul><ul><li>Escalate towards to designated machine owner if required/needed.</li></ul> Why join us?We are a purpose-driven team of international engineers, researchers, and business professionals. Furthermore, you’ll bring;<ul><li>A way of working which is driven by working extremely accurate (this is your top skill!).</li></ul><ul><li>Either a Vocational Degree (MBO) or a Bachelor’s degree. It’s even ok if you’re still pursuing a degree and you’re looking for an interesting role as a working student. </li></ul><ul><li>Some lab experience (either gained via an internship, or some work experience). </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of research and laboratory techniques. </li></ul><ul><li>A mindset driven by flexibility while being procedural; you’ll stick to preset procedures while you’re also able to act flexibly on the spot (servicing our researchers, being your internal customers). </li></ul><ul><li>The option to be available for at least 24 hours a week. </li></ul><ul><li>Fluency in English, both speaking and writing, as we work in an international environment. </li></ul><ul><li>The right energy when it comes to our purpose and you’re ready to take a leap into our scale-up. </li></ul> We are Carbyon. Lab Technician (6 months)

Climate change is real and we need to act fast. Our purpose is to restore the carbon balance in our atmosphere. Are you ready to join us on our mission? 🌎Some context As this graduation project is focused on the heart of our technology, we have to share that simply cannot fully disclose what you’ll work on at this point in time. Alternatively, we’ll use cryptic wording to give you some idea. Obviously, at a later stage, we can give you all ins and outs. Within our technology we use a material with which we adsorb carbon dioxide. This material is part of a bigger mechanical system. Our material interfaces with mechanical parts, potentially leading to the occurrence of buckling and wrinkling. In this project you will focus on developing a predictive model, using FEM, for material buckling and wrinkling of this material. This model includes material characterization. And to make your assignment even more challenging, it should come with model validation as you’ll loop experimental results back into your model. Scope of your graduation project Hopefully, you got a first impression of the project you’ll work on (and you forgive us for being vague at this stage!). Below, your scope can be found a bit more specifically. <ul><li>Characterize the strain/stress states that occur on one of our components.</li></ul><ul><li>Measure and/or determine the relevant mechanical properties required to characterize this component. </li></ul><ul><li>Simulate, using FEM, the buckling and wrinkling behavior. </li></ul><ul><li>Propose a model capable of predicting material behavior based on changes in geometry, material properties and operating parameters. </li></ul><ul><li>Validate your model as you’ll plot it onto experimental results. </li></ul>Why join us?We are a purpose-driven team of international engineers, researchers, and business professionals. Graduation Project - Solid Mechanics Simulation

While we’ve worked on our technology over the past few years, we’re at the point that we have a clear proposition towards the market. This means the momentum is here to drive new business. And that’s where you step in as our Sales Manager. While we’re already convinced that we’re having the best Direct Air Capture solution ourselves, namely a fast-swing thin film based one, the market isn’t even fully aware of our existence (yet!). So, saying that we have the best solution is like marking our own homework. And that’s where you’ll make a difference. You’ll convert our unique proposition into stories and convince prospective customers to ultimately buy our product (realizing there’s around 150 DAC-suppliers out there!). You’ll do this by exploring opportunities across various sub-markets, regions, and countries. Throughout, you’ll build relationships with companies potentially resulting in partnerships worldwide, identify high-impact opportunities, and provide tailored strategic solutions by evaluating the needs and projects of prospective customers. All of this combined results in prospects becoming actual buying customers. And with that, you drive business growth, and ultimately revenue to make sure we’re becoming commercially successful too (next to tackling climate change with our solution).  Responsibilities The context above gives you a sneak peek into the life of being our Sales Manager.
