Your mission 

 About SWITCH to Circular Economy Value Chains   The global ''SWITCH to Circular Economy Value Chains'' (SWITCH), is an EU-funded, UNIDO-led initiative that will support enterprises within selected value chains to adopt circular economy practices. The overall objective of the project is to support the “Transformation towards a circular economy”, including contributing to sustainable growth, low carbon and climate-resilient development, decent jobs creation, and a safer, healthier and pollution-free environment. Implemented by a partnership comprising UNIDO (lead), Chatham House, Circle Economy and the European Investment Bank, the initiative will pilot circular economy actions in three value chains; textiles and garments, plastics (packaging), ICT and electronics.     Transitioning to a global circular economy requires coherent practices by all actors across value chains and close cooperation is needed for MNCs and SME suppliers in emerging economies to meet global circularity goals. In this, SWITCH exemplifies the international dimension of the EU Circular Economy Action Plan by working both with multinational corporations based in Europe and their suppliers in emerging economies. Circle Economy will work across the entire initiative but will lead to developing the capacities of supported MSMEs and local business development providers to adopt circular economy practices while enhancing the capacity of government and financial institutions to provide the enabling environment (financial and technical) needed to ensure the continued uptake of these practices.   The main role of Circle Economy (CE) is to develop the capacities of supported MSMEs to adopt circular economy practices and build the capacity of selected institutions to undertake mapping and analysis of circular economy opportunities in developing countries where pilot projects will take place. While CE will take a lead role in the capacity building activities of the project, CE is expected to contribute to the implementation of other outputs of the project.

 Your profile 

 <ul>
<li>You are an independent, self-starting Master's student with a background in Economics, Political Science, Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences or another closely related field. </li>
<li>You are passionate about sustainability and are eager to gain in-depth expertise on the circular economy </li>
<li>You are comfortable diving into the deep end and learning about all different aspects of project execution to broaden your expertise in the application of the circular economy in global value chains.</li>
<li>You have strong critical and analytical skills, can tackle complex problems, and can look at problems and solutions from a systems/holistic perspective. </li>
<li>You have fluency in verbal and written communication in English (any other languages are a plus).</li>
</ul>  Project and Role<ul>
<li>
   Your role is to directly support the SWITCH team with value chain research and analysis for the textiles and garments value chain in Bangladesh, plastic packaging in Morocco and electronics and ICT in Egypt.          </li>
<li> You will conduct literature reviews to support the value chain mapping across all three countries, identify relevant stakeholders to consult and prepare briefs for the team on current evidence available and any evidence gaps that need to be filled.       </li>
<li>  Next to this, you will assist with other ad-hoc duties related to this project, as well as Circle Economy’s work on Global Value Chains</li>
</ul>Required and Preferred Skills  <ul>

<li>Ability to conduct desk research, interviews and surveys, and translate these into relevant insights.</li>
<li>Ability to write and prepare short summary documents, graphics, and presentations that effectively highlight key outcomes of research.</li>

Your mission 

 Circle Economy’s impact goal is to double global circularity by 2032. Our work with nations is crucial to achieving that goal. The Circularity Gap Reporting initiative (CGRi) offers a globally recognised method for benchmarking national performance on the circular economy, while also enabling a strong evidence base to support governments in establishing circular transition agendas. To date we have published a total of five Global Circularity Gap Reports, and an additional ten national and regional reports. To reach our impact goal of doubling global circularity, the CGRi aims to deliver analysis and monitoring for 100 countries by 2032. The Circularity Gap Reporting Initiative Lead role combines team, programme and budgetary management with business development and stakeholder management to realize the long term vision and expansion of the CGRi program. Working in collaboration with colleagues across the organization to drive an ambitious strategy for scaling Circle Economy’s products and services in delivering impact within nations. <h2>Key Responsibilities and Duties</h2><h3>Programme Management &amp; Development</h3><ol>

Lead the programme’s day-to-day operations of the CGRi team;

<li>Oversee the planning and implementation of the programme working across Circle Economy’s teams to ensure stakeholders' requirements are met</li>
<li>Direct the implementation of CGRi projects to ensure the project manager meets the stakeholders' expectations and that the project delivers within scope, budget and timelines allocated</li>
<li>Execute working practices in line with the organisation’s Project Management Office, legal, administrative and financial controls. Input into the development and agreement of policies and procedures and ensure implementation within the programme.</li>
<li>Manage the programme budget (revenue) and secure yearly positive results.</li>

Drive the strategic development of the CGRi:

<li>Drive the development of the CGRi strategy with your team’s Senior Strategists and the Research and Development team at Circle Economy to ensure your program’s strategy is in line with the organisational long term strategy and the ambitions of other thematic areas.</li>
<li>Regularly review programme positioning, services and products, and lead on their development in line with stakeholders needs, opportunities and contextual relevance.</li>
<li>Initiate, build and maintain strong relationships with partners,institutions and donors, to strengthen the programmatic impact. Secure funding for the programme’s continuity by creating and delivering proposals for funding organisations.</li>

 PREFERRED BACKGROUND<ul>
