Operations Manager

<h2>About the Position</h2>
The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) seeks an Operations Manager to advance change at the intersection of clean energy, equity, and inclusion by collaborating with colleagues and partners to develop funding proposals and recruit diverse talent to IREC. This position will provide the opportunity to learn about and contribute to critical nonprofit management functions.
&nbsp;
The Operations Manager will be closely involved with proposal development, digital fundraising, employee recruitment, and occasional events. The successful candidate will possess a proactive work style with strong follow-up skills and the desire to learn from experienced colleagues.
&nbsp;
Responsibilities
Development and Project Management
<ul>
<li>Support the proposal development process by assisting with identification of opportunities, determining application requirements, ensuring deadlines are met, collecting and formatting materials, setting up meetings, notetaking, and related duties.</li>
<li>Assist with digital fundraising, donor outreach, and CRM system management.</li>
<li>Support project management tasks such as grant reporting, budget oversight, etc.</li>
<li>Work with the communications team on two to three events per year.</li>

Recruiting and Human Resources
<ul>
<li>Lead recruiting activities by developing and marketing job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new employees.</li>
<li>Lead the development and implementation of an internship program at IREC.</li>
<li>Assist with the design and implementation of employee benefit programs.</li>
<li>Support internal initiatives to further strengthen IREC&rsquo;s workplace culture and organizational impact, including initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).</li>
</ul>
<h2>Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualities for This Role:</h2>

<li>Experience in human resources, recruiting, and/or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or academic setting</li>
<li>Experience with federal grant applications</li>
<li>Experience with project management software such as Asana</li>
<li>Experience with applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse</li>
<li>Experience with CRM systems such as Active Campaigns and Network for Good</li>
<li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience or associate&rsquo;s degree and 2-3 years of relevant work experience; four additional years of work experience can be substituted for a bachelor&rsquo;s degree</li>

<h2>About the Position</h2>
The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) seeks a passionate leader to advance change at the intersection of clean energy, equity, and inclusion. You will be a core member of IREC&rsquo;s Workforce Development team, collaborating with colleagues and a broad range of partners and stakeholders on national and regional efforts to improve clean energy workforce recruitment, training and education, and job placement outcomes. You will manage day-to-day operations for projects focused on accelerating the growth of a highly qualified and diverse workforce, and ensuring that clean energy offers high quality, family-sustaining career pathways. Initial tasks will focus on recruitment of clean energy learners and workers and development of educational and career exploration resources for underrepresented communities, veterans, opportunity youth, and others, as well as engagement with industry partners and development of related resources to support employer recruitment and retention efforts.

Responsibilities:

<li>Collaborate with colleagues and partners to increase awareness of clean energy careers and improve job placement outcomes in the clean energy sector</li>
<li>Create outreach materials in a variety of formats to promote clean energy careers, workforce best practices, and information about IREC projects and programs</li>
<li>Conduct outreach and engage employers, education providers, and other stakeholders to identify and address workforce development needs</li>
<li>Support the implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency programs according to scope, schedule, and budget</li>
<li>Support project management tasks such as project planning, partner coordination, research and data collection, grant reporting, budget oversight, etc.</li>
<li>Build and nurture relationships with clean energy stakeholders throughout the United States</li>
<li>Conduct research, surveys, and analysis in support of program goals</li>
<li>Support programmatic fundraising activities and grant applications</li>
<li>Support internal initiatives to further strengthen IREC&rsquo;s workplace culture and organizational impact</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;
IREC team members collaborate primarily in the virtual environment, leveraging remote meeting, project management, and other collaboration tools to stay connected and on task.&nbsp;

<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li>

<li>Ability to establish measurable goals to demonstrate impact and inform adjustments to strategy and approach</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and with a geographically distributed team to meet deadlines</li>
