Too often, climate change can feel like a big, abstract and even overwhelming topic. How do we start to wrap our heads around it, in the midst of everything else going on in our lives? How will it impact me and the people I love? The Week was designed to help everyone to engage with the topic.
The Week is a powerful group experience that creates space for people to have brave conversations about the climate emergency, and what can be done about it right now. This happens over the course of a week, where you’ll meet with a group of friends, family, or colleagues to share 3 short documentaries and guided discussions, that leads everyone through an emotional “U” shaped journey to really grapple with the reality and emotions brought on by the climate emergency.
It’s a whole new way to face the topic. The Week doesn’t talk about polar bears or ice caps melting, but about us. How each one of us – and the people we love – might be touched by this emergency over the next 10, 20, or 30 years. The experience is rooted in solid facts and information, but above all, helps people process the emotions that can show up when acknowledging the state of our environment – like fear, anger, or a sense of powerlessness.
Participants are shown how they can take action concretely - at home, at work, in your community - to inspire hope and joy in the face of this challenge. By facing this head on, participants come out on the other side energized, and empowered to take action, to turn this defining crisis into the defining adventure of our time.
