Role and Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and strategic full-time Senior Buyer to join our Operations team.Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for various materials and services essential to our operations, ensuring that we maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in our supply chain. The candidate must exhibit a customer-first attitude with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced setting. Primary Responsibilities <ul><li> Procurement of materials for assigned products/commodities including calculation of requirements using MRP and other tools. Assigned commodities will include electronic components, custom-designed circuit boards and mechanical components.</li><li> Establish and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to facilitate competitive pricing, on-time delivery, quick resolution of problems and excellent customer service. The Senior Buyer Is expected to be the primary point of contact during price negotiations with suppliers and in the event of complex commercial issues.</li><li> Contribute to cross-functional projects and new product introduction initiatives by working with other departments, especially Research &amp; Development (R&amp;D) and Marketing/Sales, to provide material as needed to support project and New Product Introduction schedules.</li><li> Implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.</li><li> Monitor market trends and analyze supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.</li><li> Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.</li></ul> Required Skills and Experience<ul><li> Minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing organization.</li><li> Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).</li><li> In-depth understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.</li><li> Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.</li><li> Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost reduction and value creation.</li><li> Familiarity with quality standards and compliance regulations relevant to manufacturing.</li><li> Familiarity with legal requirements of contracts.</li><li> Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li> Ability to work within a diverse work group in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li> Proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.</li><li> A professional certification (e.g. SCMP, CSCMP, CSCP) is a plus.</li></ul> EducationCandidates are required to have Grade 12 education.
