This person will be responsible for managing all accounting activities, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated progressive accounting leadership and a desire to lead the accounting organization in a dynamic growth-stage company. The role requires a hands-on approach, with a willingness to “roll up sleeves” to perform various tasks as needed.In this role, you will:<ul><li>Lead and own all accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, inventory, fixed assets, leases, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, equity accounting, and intercompany consolidation.</li><li>Oversee the month-end closing process, including account reconciliation, and quarterly/annual financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and monitor and evaluate their performance and effectiveness.</li><li>Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and tax filings compliance with external service providers.</li><li>Conduct analysis of costs and expenses to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Collaborate with cross functional team to ensure timely execution of cost reduction targets.</li><li>Mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing accounting team and support their growth and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability.</li><li>Partner with the FP&amp;A function on the annual budget, monthly forecast, various expense analytics and other internal reporting activities.</li><li>Work on special projects, system implementations/optimizations, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.</li></ul>We are looking for people who:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.</li><li>Proven experience (8-10+ years) in accounting roles and demonstrated accounting leadership, including in a Manufacturing setting.</li><li>Robust knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.</li><li>Exhibit an energetic and positive attitude with a focus on problem solving.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. This position requires a thorough understanding of how the battery works, how they are assembled and how the energy density can be affected by various parameters etc. Applicants must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.Responsibilities:- Spend at least 50% of your time inside Factorial's labs, working directly with our development teams - Design the cell by the multiple performance aspects (cycle life, energy density, power density etc.) - Review and feedback on the designed cell parameters to fine-tune them up to the customer’s requirements. - Engage in cell failure root cause analysis if required. - Interface and work closely not only with the rest of cell design team but also with internal R&amp;D team, process team and production team to solve/mitigate the problems from the cell level. - Engage in responding to the customer requests by coordinating with the project managers. - Maintain compliance with all company protocols related to confidentiality, assignment of inventions, and other policies or duties as identified and assigned.Qualifications:- More than 5 years of industrial experience with all-solid-state cell design, including testing, data, and failure mechanism analysis. - Experience with pouch cell or prismatic cell is required - Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
