The Sustainability Committee Chair works on the Sustainability committee and works closely with the Director of Equity and Advocacy. The Sustainability Chair acts as an advocate for environmental well-being on behalf of the student body to the Engineering Society by coordinating relevant equity initiatives, reviewing current society practices, and acting as a resource to engineering students. Engineers of Tomorrow (EoT) Chapter Communications Coordinator

The Bursary Committee Chair (BCC) leads/oversees the bursary committee and reports to the Director of Equity and Advocacy. This committee manages bursary requests submitted by members of the Engineering community. The BCC is responsible for preparing bursary application batches for the committee to review, and calling and chairing meetings for the committee. Though the BCC does not make decisions on the status of bursaries, it is important that they consistently make ethical decisions, are highly trustworthy, and can recognize biases. Bursary Committee Chair

The Marketing Chair leads the Marketing Committee and oversees all of its initiatives. They work closely with all of the other Professional Development committees to promote their events to students. You will also have the freedom to design new social media campaigns if you wish. Past Instagram campaigns (@engsocpd) have included “Queen’s Perspective” and “This Week Online.” This position is a great opportunity to improve your creative, and graphic design skills. EngiQueers Vice President of Communications

Robogals is an international, student-run organization that aims to inspire, engage, and empower young women to consider studying engineering and technology-related fields. To achieve this mission, Robogals’ primary activity is hosting free, interactive, engineering-based workshops for students in local elementary and high schools. ALL students are welcome to participate in our workshops.The Robogals chapter at Queen’s University has been making a positive impact in the Kingston, Ontario community since 2013. Through partnerships with local schools and afterschool programs, we have helped introduce over 600 young women to robotics and engineering since our chapter’s creation.As a member of the executive team, you are responsible for carrying out the job specific tasks described below for each position, as well as attending weekly meetings and helping out with club wide events whenever possible. In addition to inspiring young students in the Kingston community, Robogals executives get the opportunity to participate in the Seminar on Inducting New Executives (SINE), ran by Robogals North America. SINE is an exciting time for Robogals volunteers from across the region to come together and learn more about the broader Robogals community through workshops, presentations, panels, and team building events. The roles we are hiring for are as follows: Sponsorships Manager (1) Partnerships and Outreach Manager (1) Operations Manager (1) Training Manager (2) Workshop Coordinator (4) Marketing Manager (1) Events Coordinator (2) Operations Manager: As operations manager, you will take on the responsibilities of the treasurer and logistic coordinator. You will manage Robogals’ finances throughout the year, ensure that Robogals is following all of the appropriate club protocols and procedure, and help to coordinate travel to the annual conference. All in all – you are the backbone of the club and will ensure that our club is still standing at the end of the year! Sponsorships Manager: As sponsorships manager, you will ensure that Robogals has enough funds to continue to host incredible workshops, while expanding our curriculum. Responsibilities include updating the sponsorship package content, maintain professional relationships with existing sponsors, filling out grant applications, and identifying and cultivating leads and prospects. All in all, you will ensure that Robogals may continue doing incredible work with the support we need.Training Manager: As one of the Training Managers, you will ensure that our Robogals volunteers are prepared when they come to our workshops. This will include teaching the volunteers how to use the Finch robot software, and how to appropriately interact and be a role model with the students. You will also help to oversee the Workshop Coordinators, and ensure that they have the resources they require to organize and run our workshops. This will include organizing and leading meetings with the Workshop Coordinators, and helping to develop workshop procedures and content. Marketing Manager: As Marketing Manager, you will develop innovative marketing strategies to engage and create awareness within both key markets, being the Queen’s and Kingston community. Responsibilities include executing engaging online content, plan and execute marketing campaigns, and designing advertisements for upcoming Robogals events. A successful candidate should have a basic understanding of a photo editing service – or have the drive to develop a new skill! Partnerships and Outreach Manager: As Partnerships and Outreach Manager, it is your job to maintain strong and professional relationships with contacts at schools, as well as identify and cultivate new prospects, and organize the date and time of the workshops. Responsibilities include collecting the availability of the Workshop Coordinators, setting the date and time of the workshops, and reaching out to new schools or organizations that may be interested in running a Robogals workshop. Robogals is growing at an increasing rate, and it is your job to ensure that we are reaching ANY and EVERY girl in the Kingston area who may have an interest in STEM.Workshop Coordinator: The Workshop Coordinators are an integral part of the Robogals team. As one of the Workshop Coordinators, it will be your responsibility to design and run our Robogals workshops. This includes recruiting available volunteers, designing lesson plans that incorporate engineering and STEM activities, running workshops, and being a role model to the students in your workshops. As a Workshop Coordinator, you will work under the Training Manger, who will ensure you have all of the resources and support you need to be successful. Events Coordinator: The job of the Events Coordinator is to plan and oversee events for the Queen’s chapter of Robogals. The main event we typically run is the annual RoboDay event, which is a full day event at Queen's where elementary school students get to participate in robotics and coding workshops and hear from engineering/science design teams and professors. However, in this role you are welcome to bring suggestions for any new events you would like to run! Responsibilities include organizing event/food sanctioning, event scheduling and gauging volunteer/exec availability, purchasing/organizing any required materials or supplies for events, room booking, and gathering sign-ups for events. The events coordinator must be proficient in organization, planning and leadership.
