The ideal candidate will have experience producing compelling creative design assets independently and at speed, some experience in politics and/or issue advocacy, and a platform-specific understanding of how to communicate with audiences online.</span></div><br><br><h3>Primary Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><b>Rapid Response Design Execution: </b>Work with the Creative Department and its counterparts in the  Digital Department to identify and respond to planned and emerging rapid response opportunities by producing timely and engaging static and motion design assets that drive Climate Power’s messaging priorities across the organization’s owned social media platforms and mobilization programs. </li><li><b>Content Optimization &amp; Trend Awareness:</b> Work closely with Digital Department counterparts to ensure content is optimized for specific platforms. Follow design trends and maintain awareness of social media trends, especially around climate politics. </li><li><b>Cross-Team Collaboration: </b>Reach across Climate Power departments and campaigns to develop, retain, and grow a deep understanding of the organization’s messaging priorities and programmatic goals. </li><li><b>Concept Development:</b> Work independently and collaboratively to develop and pitch creative digital design concepts for planned rapid response opportunities. </li><div><b>Additional responsibilities as need and capacity dictate.</b> </div></ul><h3>Essential Qualifications </h3><ul><li>Three years of relevant prior work experience creating static and motion digital design assets - ideally at an issue-focused non-profit, political, or news organization. </li><li>Experience producing timely and compelling content to answer planned and unplanned rapid response scenarios. </li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. </li><li>Proficiency in the full Adobe Creative Suite and/or additional design applications and tools is a plus. </li><li>Demonstrable in applying and adhering to brand guidelines and understanding composition, typography, and color.</li><li>Strong understanding of the intersections between climate policy and politics and the news cycle. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keen attention to detail, and workflow organization. </li><li>Interpersonal skills, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well on and across teams. </li><li>A strong portfolio of digital design work. </li><li>Proficiency in Google Workplace and project management applications. </li></ul><h3>Location &amp; Hours of Operations</h3><ul><li>Climate Power is a remote-first organization based in DC. This role will also be responsible for managing the production lifecycle for all of Climate Power’s organic creative output and a portion of its paid content. The ideal candidate should bring experience in developing and producing creative projects and deliverables at all levels of scale and budget. Distill and translate nuanced and arcane messaging and insights into dynamic creative concepts that terminate in creative products that excite and move audiences to engage and act. </li><li><b>Creative Production Life-Cycle &amp; Project Management: </b>Operationalize, own, and execute the management of the pre-production, production, post-production, and final delivery lifecycle phases of long-lead creative projects and assets. Manage internal Climate Power staff and external freelancers and vendors, as well as both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure always-on-schedule delivery of projects and assets against tight deadlines. </li><li><b>People &amp; Contract Management:</b> Manage and mentor  Climate Power Creative Department staff alongside the Managing Director, creating and encouraging an environment that facilitates professional growth and development. Manage external Climate Power Creative Department freelance production and design professionals and vendors, including owning a portion of contracting and invoicing responsibilities. </li><li><b>Budget Management: </b>Alongside the Managing Director, develop and monitor the Creative Department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to Climate Power’s financial processes and procedures.
