Ecosystem Services Regional Lead - Africa (m-f-d)

The Scope To conceptually lead and advise on activities on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the FSC normative framework related to country requirements (i.e. FSC Forest Stewardship Standards, FSC Risk Assessments), in line with the applicable FSC international requirements, and principles of efficiency, outcome orientation, risk-based approaches, simplification, digitization, and user orientation. To perform content quality and consistency supervision of FSC country requirements that are under development or revision, development of interpretations to these requirements, as well as to support the introduction of new normative concepts, and to guide the development of training materials in the area of country requirements. System Performance Manager (m-f-d)

The Scope FSC International Center with its Performance and Standards Unit is responsible for setting requirements for responsible forest management and chain of custody all over the world.  This work requires collaboration with many parties and is performed by a large team of staff in the FSC Office in Bonn, as well as by colleagues working remotely. To perform our work effectively, our unit needs an excellent and proficient administration management making sure that contracts are established following due and timely process, invoices are verified and processed in a timely manner, events and meetings are organized well in advance, as well as that unit-wide processes for travel and budget management run smoothly. Your role will be to bring our administrative management to the next level to ensure a seamless day-to-day management of all administrative operations, including centralizing and standardizing administration processes and close collaboration with respective programme leaders in our unit. You will be coordinating procurement, contracting, budgeting, travel and invoice management, and will be guiding the PSU team currently consisting of two administrative assistants. Given the high level of required coordination, planning, and time management skills, we will welcome a candidate experienced not only with administrative or executive assistant work, but also with proven project management skills. People Operations Manager (m-f-d)

The Scope You will manage the relationship with FSC’s national accreditation body and the FSC system acceptance process in accordance with the European (EC) regulation 765/2008. You will implement an FSC General Assembly 2021/2022 membership motion to develop a new set of requirements for FSC’s assurance provider Assurance Services International (ASI). Main Roles &amp; Responsibilities <ul><li>To manage the FSC application for system review with the national accreditation body, coordinating with relevant FSC teams and ASI.  </li><li>To manage the ongoing compliance of FSC certification system with relevant accreditation and assurance legislation.</li><li>To coordinate with relevant FSC teams and ASI to ensure alignment of FSC requirements with ISO requirements (mainly ISO 17065 requirements and ISO 17067 guidance).    </li><li>To develop and implement a structure for informing and consulting the national accreditation body (and European Accreditation members) on changes to the FSC Normative Framework.  </li><li>To manage the relationship with the national accreditation body.</li><li>To develop and maintain requirements for ASI in accordance with FSC’s standard setting procedure FSC-PRO-01-001, comprising the requirements for the assessment process and reporting of ASI to FSC and considering existing Key Performance Indicators</li></ul> Your profile Education and Training: <ul><li>MScs University or technical college degree in a relevant field (e.g. quality management, international relations, social sciences, business administration).</li></ul>Working Experience, Style and Skills: <ul><li>At least 5 years of work experience in one or more of the following areas: certification (standard development, auditing), quality management (quality assurance, quality control), assurance.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in implementation of ISO 17065 and related ISO requirements for accreditation.</li><li>Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Proven successful project management experience.</li><li>A very strong sense for diligence and accuracy.</li><li>Service and solution-oriented attitude to work.</li><li>Proactiveness and high level of engagement.</li><li>Style oriented on collaboration and team cohesiveness.</li><li>Administration skills.</li></ul>Digital Skills: <ul><li>Good skills in the use of/experience with standard software packages (MS Office).</li></ul>Languages and Communication Skills: <ul><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and user-friendly manner to non-technical audi-ence.</li><li>Experience or demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural and diverse team.</li><li>Excellent English and German (spoken and written).</li></ul>Others: <ul><li>Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.</li><li>Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and</li><li>approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.</li></ul> The Fine Print <ul><li>Location: Bonn, Germany.</li><li>Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.</li><li>Starting Date: As soon as possible.</li><li>Duration of Employment: 2 years with the intend to extend to open-ended.</li></ul>
