Flux

Flux is a pre-commercialisation, R&D stage startup developing a breakthrough desalination technology to produce abundant, dirt-cheap clean water and address increasing global water scarcity.

Flux is led by two experienced engineers with cross-disciplinary expertise in building and commercialising new technologies from carbon capture to biotech. Flux is being built on the thesis that water demand has increased by approximately 40% over the past 40 years and is estimated to increase another 25% by 2050, yet supply has more than halved since 1970.

Flux is establishing a new water supply solution to tackle growing water insecurity. The Flux solution involves a novel engineering design, powered entirely by the sun. Flux's breakthrough technology significantly improves on incumbent desalination technologies, delivering clean water at a cost competitive with tap water, while protecting marine environments via the delivery of zero-liquid discharge of waste brine.
