At Climatebase, we're mobilizing talent for a climate-positive world.
We’re a venture-backed startup focused on solving the #1 challenge faced by organizations working on climate: Hiring.
Our platform helps talented professionals discover climate job opportunities and transition into the space — and in doing so, we help climate-focused organizations hire the mission-driven talent they need to succeed.
Since our launch in July 2020, Climatebase has become the world's leading platform for climate jobs, talent, and community:
- Nearly 500k people have used Climatebase to discover and apply to over 30k jobs at over 3,000 climate tech companies and environmental nonprofits.
- We’ve developed one of the leading climate tech newsletters, Climatebase Weekly, which reaches nearly 35,000 readers twice a week, with an average open rate above 50%. (If you’re familiar with newsletters, you’ll appreciate how impressive that is)
- We’ve recently launched our first-of-many cohort-based courses, the Climatebase Fellowship, with an inaugural 150-person cohort of top talent from over 2,500 applicants we received. We’re now actively looking to scale this program while launching new, more specialized CBCs.
Climatebase is both a product-centric and community-centric technology company.
We’re the first hiring platform entirely focused on climate. With hundreds-of-thousands of users in the past year, we’re increasingly being recognized as the go-to jobs and talent marketplace for the rapidly growing climate tech vertical.
Additionally, we’re now doubling-down on community, having successfully launched our first-of-many cohort-based courses, the Climatebase Fellowship, with an inaugural 150-person cohort selected from over 2,500 applicants we received. We’re now in the early stages of scaling our cohort-based courses, and in doing so, planting the seeds of community that will eventually flywheel into a scaled professional network — one that is fully integrated into our platform and core to our product’s user experience.
Our vision is to become the market network for climate — think “LinkedIn for climate”: part employment marketplace, and part professional network for individuals and organizations mission-focused on addressing climate change.

What you will do:
Design slick, responsive digital products (from ideation to creation).

Consult on design consistency and visual styling across all Climatebase user facing assets (marketing, product, investor relations)
Some possible projects could include:
New hiring tools/features for employers.
Designing new and improved versions of existing Climatebase pages and directories, such as the organizations directory, jobs search directory, people directory, job posting pages, organizations pages, Climatebase Fellowship + more!
The opportunity to create a completely new and unified design system for Climatebase.
The opportunity to design new products for jobseekers to help that transition into working on climate
You should be self-directed and excited to take on the responsibility of being our design lead.
Experience in user-centric UX design (in-house or in agency)
Ability to design and prototype in tools such as Figma and Adobe.
Familiarity with Google Analytics, HTML/CSS and other current web technologies
Fast paced: You thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and a mindset of rapid prototyping and iteration
You have excellent communication and presentation skills
An understanding of frontend development to ensure designs are buildable and within architecture capability.
You understand the technical limitations behind design and can effectively partner with your engineering and data counterparts
Nice to haves:
A passion for solving hard problems and understanding user needs.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working on marketplace platforms.
Some experience in user experience or conversion rate optimization.
