The role can be based in either our Portland, Maine, New York City or Montpelier, VT offices or remote (NOTE: Must work East Coast hours when remote).    Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Contribute business value from tax via income tax forecasting, projections, planning, and efficient process </li> <li>Design, implementation, and maintenance of tax technology ecosystem including tax-aligned ERP </li> <li>Manage corporate income tax compliance including our outsourced tax relationship with managed services tax providers </li> <li>Manage tax provision preparation and preparation of financial statements footnotes in accordance with ASC 740, including state tax matters such as apportionment </li> <li>Manage corporate income tax forecasting and planning including Federal income tax, state income tax, and E&amp;P (earnings and profits) </li> <li>Coordination between various departments, tax team, and broader AFT team (Accounting, Finance and Treasury) on tax matters </li> <li>Work with the Investment team as well as outside tax counsel on asset acquisitions, transfers/sales between Greenbacker entities, and dispositions</li> <li> Review, draft, and/or instruct on a wide range of federal and state corporate tax matters </li> <li>Review tax related documents prior to filing.</li> </ul>Requirements<ul> <li>CPA, Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree in tax-preferred with 6 plus years related experience in a tax practice or comparable  public company corporate environment focused on corporate income tax provisions and compliance. </li> <li>Experience with tax technology (Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Bloomberg Tax, PowerPlan Tax Provision, Oracle Tax Reporting) is preferred and must demonstrate proficiency with key system</li> <li>Automation of tax data and processes including data collection, mapping, calculation, and analysis </li> <li>Adaptability and business-oriented approach, with an emphasis on project management </li> <li>Ability to manage through multiple reporting relationships</li> <li>Collaborative and strong interpersonal skills.  Must be able to clearly explain principles and concepts of tax on a business level.  </li> <li>Highly motivated, independent, results-oriented, and possessing a strong sense of ownership</li> </ul>Benefits<ul> <li> Medical: 5 United Health Care Oxford options</li> <li> Dental: Guardian – two options</li> <li> Vision: Guardian / VSP – one option (100% employee paid)</li> <li> Life and AD&amp;D: Short term and long-term disability (both 100% employer paid)</li> <li> Retirement/401(K): ADP/Voya with 50% match up to 6% of salary</li> <li> Other: Medical and dependent care / Health Savings Accounts, Pre-tax commuter benefits through Optum</li> <li> Time Off: 20 days paid time off, 7 sick days a year, 32 hours of VTO a year.</li> <li> Family Building: Coverage for infertility, adoption, surrogacy, and 16 weeks of family leave.</li> </ul>
