Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will operate both a strategic thinker and an effective leader responsible for identifying opportunities within the organization to operate more efficiently, preparing financial analyses of operations, and statements with supporting schedules, under the guidance of management.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Accounting Operations -</li>
<ul>
<li>Lead and develop Modern Meadow’s accounting capabilities, including billing, inventory, accounts payable, payroll, and cash application functions</li>
<li>Maintain and ensure the integrity of the company’s accounting systems (including chart of accounts) and compliance with GAAP</li>
<li>Manage month end financial close process (including proper review/maintenance of account reconciliations and accruals)</li>
<li>Review and approve monthly trial balance</li>
<li>Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems</li>
<li>Ensure timely preparation, distribution and review of monthly/quarterly financial statements for management</li>
<li>Stay current on, research and document new accounting rules that will impact the company; research and document the company’s position on complex accounting matters</li>
<li>Drive continuous improvements in the company’s accounting processes and financial/business controls (including those for the record to report, purchase to pay, order to cash, and plan to make cycles)</li>
</ul>
<li>Financial Management &amp; Controls -</li>
<ul>
<li>Active management of overhead and supporting the business in finding cost savings</li>
<li>Lead the documentation and maintenance of the company’s financial/accounting policies</li>
<li>Manage and support the annual audit process (including audit planning, preparation, support, close-out and ongoing improvements)</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings</li>
<li>Assist with the benchmarking and setting of various financial and/or operational metrics; help develop and maintain metrics and reports to assist with management financial oversight</li>
<li>Partner with the Financial Planning &amp; Analysis function to prepare and review monthly financial results and variances; and adopt strategies to influence operational behavior</li>
</ul>
<li>Treasury - </li>
<ul>
<li>Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes</li>
<li>Review weekly, monthly, annual cash forecasts</li>
<li>Monitor bank account activity, and other treasury matters; ensure compliance</li>
</ul>
<li>Tax –</li>
<ul>
<li>Support the execution and implementation of the company’s tax strategy</li>
<li>Assist in providing tax advisory to mitigate tax risks and exposure</li>
<li>Team with external tax preparers to ensure all relevant tax deadlines and regulations are satisfied</li>
</ul>
</ul>
Experience, Skills &amp; Knowledge:
<ul>
<li>BS/BA in Accounting, Masters in Accounting and/or Finance a plus</li>
<li>Concrete understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulations (CPA) credentials (or international equivalent), with 4 years of experience in public accounting, and 5-7 years of experience in private accounting. Management experience a plus</li>
<li>Experience with NetSuite, Power BI and mastery within Excel</li>
<li>Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.</li>
<li>Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in technical accounting research and memo writing and financial reporting</li>
<li>Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal and presentation skills</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills including task prioritization and effective time management</li>
<li>Excellent analytical skills demonstrating good judgment and problem-solving ability</li>
<li>Ability to work on-site at our Nutley, NJ HQ a minimum of three (3) days a week (currently Tuesday – Thursday but may be subject to change)</li>

 As we continue to grow we are seeking a Environmental Health &amp; Safety Manager to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for the company's safety program and help develop a proactive and positive safety culture.  
 
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Provide EHS leadership and guidance for a rapidly growing company with diversity of experience levels and disciplines </li>
<li>
Keep up to date with new and evolving federal, state, local and industry standards - including OSHA and GHS  
</li>
<li>Establish laboratory, Pilot and Manufacturing safety policies and practices by acting as a change agent for implementing a behavioral-based safety culture</li>
<li>
Collaborate with Scientists, Engineers, and the team to understand work practices and their impact on safety  
</li>
<li>
Develop a people focused safety culture which considers behavioral based safety and how this contributes to a safe environment

EHS Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, Biomedical, this role will interface with senior leadership and external partners for the commercialization of protein-based technologies produced using Modern Meadow's advanced application platforms for the improvement of human health and healing, particularly in the areas of dermatology and regenerative medicine. 
Responsibilities will include commercial and partnership strategy, competitive intelligence, financial modeling, and building external relationships to bring biomedical technologies to market, through collaborative research, co-development, co-marketing, technology licensing and joint venture agreements. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
<ul>
<li>Develop strategies to commercialize proprietary technology in dermatological, orthopedic, and ocular indications, including assessing unmet market needs, clinical and regulatory pathways, and potential exits.</li>
<li>Identify commercial partners with complementary capabilities and build ongoing relationships through continuous business development and networking.</li>
<li>In collaboration with R&amp;D, provide commercial input on research projects to advance product development, validate market opportunities, and optimize allocation of resources.</li>
<li>Oversee alliance management of existing commercial and research collaborations. </li>
<li>Working with external advisors and partners, oversee and advise on the clinical development of biomedical product candidates and communications with the FDA.</li>
<li>Develop and validate assumptions using market research, and build financial models to support senior leadership investment and resource allocations decisions.</li>
<li>Assess competitive landscape within targeted indications, including unmet needs and opportunities for competitive differentiation.</li>
<li>Determine and inform allocation of time and resources across an opportunity portfolio pipeline, including lifecycle management decisions</li>
<li>Support and lead negotiation of research, licensing, co-development, co-marketing agreements and joint ventures, as directed by the General Manager.

Experience, Skills &amp; Knowledge:

<li> Advanced degree. MBA, JD, MD, and/or PhD preferred</li>
<li>12+ years full-time work experience in Biomedical product development and/or business development</li>
<li>Cross-functional team-player, with strong ability to build relationships within and across internal functions and external partners</li>
<li>Expertise with market segmentation, industry analysis, pricing, supply chain, and competitive benchmarking</li>

Senior Director, Biomedical Business Development

Reporting to the General Manager, Biomedical, this role will play a key role in identifying and managing and informing internal and external biomedical research using Modern Meadow's advanced application platforms for the improvement of human health and healing.  
Responsibilities will include analysis of scientific and patent literature, competitive intelligence, supporting internal and external technology development projects, including project management in alignment with Business Unit (BU) Goals.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide project leadership for research initiatives and collaborations, including implementing processes and metrics for tracking progress.

Identify and validate new business development opportunities while partnering with the technology group to develop research proposals.
