Blockchain Engineer

Neuterra Inc. is looking to hire a talented blockchain engineer. As one of the first hires, you would be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting a distributed blockchain-based network. Your primary responsibility is analyzing requirements, designing blockchain technology, and the building and launching of a blockchain network. 

As a small team, we’re looking for someone that can wear multiple hats on the technology and engineering side and cross-collaborate with the business/operations side. Prior startup experience isn’t required, but the passion to help lead the charge on a purpose-driven entrepreneurial endeavor with an early-stage startup is.

Your Qualifications and Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong software development background
• Experience working with large codebases
• Experience working with open-source projects
• Proficiency in one of the following languages: C++, Java, JavaScript 
• Strong knowledge of common algorithms and data structures
• Familiarity with basic cryptography
• Familiarity with P2P networks
• Strong knowledge of bitcoin-like blockchains
• Strong knowledge of concurrency and writing efficient and safe multithreaded code
• Strong knowledge of STL, C++11 {{ In the case of a blockchain based on C++ }}

Your Responsibilities

• Advocate for intersectional environmentalism (the protection of both people and the planet)
• Align with the company’s vision, needs, and expectations
• Help mold and maintain an egalitarian culture from the top down
• Work diligently with the founding team and play a critical role in bringing the company to Series A funding
• Ability to visualize a proposed digital solution using blockchain technology and play a critical role in building it
• Research, design, develop, and test blockchain technologies
• Brainstorm and help evaluate applications for new tools and technologies as they continually evolve
• Be involved in the global blockchain community—work on implementing and integrating the latest improvement proposals
• Document new solutions as well as maintaining that of existing ones
