Tl;dr
We’re looking for our next HUNTER and CLOSER to increase our company's growth and success by selling carbon removal offsets to businesses. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated experience in direct sales, including experience in the tech industry. Experience in sales management and environmental space are pluses. Mission alignment (solve climate change) is a must. Uncapped commission. Opportunity for fast and continuous career growth and leadership track.
We’re a team of believers; we believe that we (society) can stop and reverse climate change by creating enough financial incentive for people to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, removing over 1.5 trillion tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere that has been emitted since the industrial revolution.
We are venture-backed and values focused company, focused on people and planet. Our team is made of a diverse set of people with complementing skill-sets, all unified on the mission to address the climate crisis by enabling global CO2 removal.
We strongly suggest that you read in detail about our company values and mission at https://nori.com/careers.
Here’s a question for you:
What is most important to you?
If you chose A, B, or C, you’d be incorrect. If you chose ‘D. All of the above’, we want to talk to you. We’re looking for a challenger who not only sees the unstated option D, but also pushes the win-win-win scenario forward on the table for consideration.
While we have had steady sales since launching our marketplace, Nori is still innovating and finding product-market-fit through both sales and partnerships. Your role in joining Nori at this point is pivotal to our success in 10X-ing sales.
Demonstrated success in direct sales. You are a go-getter with focus and tenacity. You have a hunter attitude and are values guided. You must have a minimum of 5 years professional B2B sales experience in high-tech or service-related industries. You must have a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales objectives and quotas, and identifying prospects and new customers in assigned customer segments. You will lead negotiations and overcome objections to maximize opportunities.
Pattern matching. Because Nori is still working towards product-market-fit, your responsibilities go beyond just selling, to documenting the patterns of what you hear and sharing those insights with the broader team. This primarily looks like identifying and relaying to the team any patterns in customers’ needs, what they’re saying, who is saying these things, and how often. This will enable the team to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, risks to the company or strategy, and will improve the customer development process. You will work closely with the Director of Corporate Development to inform customer development and go-to-market strategies.
Get your hands dirty and wear many hats. Your primary job will be to sell. Your talent and skills in sales tactics, your eloquence and clarity of message in the value that Nori provides to its customers, will be used daily to bring in new leads, close those sales, and identify and hand off leads partnerships to account manager. You will be responsible for identifying prospects and new customers in assigned customer segments
Be a team player. Mentor and share expertise. You must be a team player. You will share your wisdom, experience, and tips of the trade with the team to improve both the overall ability of any team member to articulate Nori’s value and improve the sales process overall. If you see a better way of pitching the product, language that clarifies the message, you let the rest of the team know and explain clearly why. You will be leaned on as a SME in selling, and so other internal stakeholders may lean on your expertise and guidance in how to package an offering (sales or otherwise). For example: we will need you to help refine the pitch for the next round of fundraising, working closely with the leadership team and Nori CEO.
Be a fast learner who can climb steep learning curves. Nori (and the climate change and offset space) is quite complex. There is a lot of science and history that led to the design of Nori’s marketplace and that set it apart from its competitors. Your ability to pick up quickly on these differences and communicate them to the customers to get a “yes” is vital to your success in this role. You’re not expected to get a PhD or any degree in environmental science, but you must have some ability to understand the basic science of carbon removal and communicate that back to customers.
Bonus points if you have:
