Job Description

About the Opportunity                                           

We are growing our product management team and looking for a talented performance and operations analyst. You will ideally have a background in building performance and/or engineering, and a passion for equitably reducing the carbon footprint of our homes, while delivering the highest customer comfort and experience.

You will have a pivotal role at the interface of product, engineering and operations. You will use your skills and modeling capabilities to monitor and analyze the performance of our systems in the field, identify, diagnose and communicate issues, and propose solutions. In parallel you will become an expert on product and system performance, and on the competitive space, use that knowledge to investigate and identify opportunities and priorities for product improvement and optimization.

The role is hands on, reporting directly to our Head of Product Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis supporting and providing insights around the performance of assets in the field, including efficiency, production, emissions and costs.
  • Develop, use and enhance models, generate tools and reports that efficiently distill large amounts of operating data from various components of our systems.
  • Support business with time-critical data analyses, diagnostics and recommendations on current customer and test systems.
  • Become the expert on product performance, challenges, and opportunities. Conduct deep dive analyses to further improve the technology; make recommendations to identify and prioritize new features and develop our product roadmap.
  • Work with engineering to implement operations and performance features, including developing specifications, performing design reviews, testing.
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders.
  • Research and distill the latest trends and innovations in low carbon HVAC and hot water systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM topic. Preferred: building science and engineering or similar.
  • Proficiency with building energy modeling and model development.
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel and/or python and R data analysis tools, including pivot tables, advanced worksheet functions, automation.
  • Relevant experience providing quantitative analysis, model usage and development, and/or technical consulting related to building energy performance.
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to lead projects and drive through completion in a timely manner.
