GPU Graphics and Display Pipeline, Sr. Staff Engineer - 20199

The Digital Cockpit team is responsible for defining the digital experience in all of NIO’s premium smart EVs.  We design and implement software and hardware to enable the ultimate living room experience for our luxury, electric, autonomous vehicles.
As an engineer in the NIO Digital Cockpit team, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to apply leading edge technologies to revolutionize the automotive domain.You will utilize your expertise in GPU, graphics, and display systems to develop and deliver solutions for handling multiple high-resolution displays, AR/VR headsets. The resulting experiences will provide greater comfort, convenience, personalization, and safety for both vehicle occupants and the public at large

Responsibilities:

• From the understanding of the holistic system and targeted user experience, own and deliver the embedded software architecture and implementation of the solution.
• Own, design and deliver the embedded software design.
• Own, implement and test the total or a part of the software modules related to display and graphic pipeline.
• Drive our system architecture specifications down to the component level selection and development for next products.
• Develop framework for handling many displays with various resolutions and AR/VR headsets in the car.

Requirements:

• Hands on experience designing and developing embedded software to control display and video output interfaces like DisplayPort, DSI, MIPI.
• Hands on experience designing and developing embedded software to control a graphic pipeline using GPU, CPU, hardware accelerators and the time critical design and implementation constraints.
• Expert in OpenGL.
• Experience with C++.
• 15+ years of industry experience.
• 10+ years of development experience in embedded QNX/Linux/Android operating systems.
• 5+ years’ experience GPU, graphics, and display systems.
• Familiarity with modern software development tools for source code control, unit testing, automated build, test, and deployment.
• A passionate, curious mind that is driven to find solutions to difficult problems. A capability to work either independently or collaboratively as projects evolve.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the automotive domain.
• Experience developing frameworks for distributed systems.
• QNX Hypervisor integration and software development.
• Experience with functional safety analysis and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with system development and hardware product integration.
• Experience delivering three or more major products to mass production.
