The Business Engagement Coordinator will provide programmatic and administrative support to manage C2ES' Business Environmental Leadership Council and provide support to C2ES' business engagement within domestic and international policy programs. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Engagement and works with other program leads as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist in managing relationships and day-to-day operations of C2ES' Business Environmental Leadership Council (BELC), including responding to member inquiries and requests; developing presentations and meeting materials; managing of member database; and, taking on other duties as assigned.
Help organize events and coordinate speakers for the BELC to foster greater knowledge of policy and technology solutions. These events include several BELC meetings per year, bi-monthly policy briefings, workshops, webinars, conference panels, and in person public events, including domestic events and business-focused side-events at the annual COP meeting.
Track and analyze BELC member climate targets and greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts.
Assist with recruitment of new members by researching and helping to engage prospective companies.
Assist with retention of existing members by identifying opportunities to enhance value of BELC membership.
Assist the Vice President for Business Engagement, other senior staff, and policy fellows in helping to develop and execute new programming relevant to BELC members to enhance cross-sector dialogue and learnings between leading companies on climate and create opportunities for business engagement on key policy and technology-related climate solutions.
Work closely with the policy team to coordinate and track businesses' involvement in C2ES outreach to policymakers and any other cross-programmatic corporate engagement.
Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Vice President of Business Engagement, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Approximately 2-3 years of work experience related to sustainable business and/or stakeholder engagement with businesses and/or energy/climate.
Bachelors degree in business (preferably with coursework in sustainability), environmental or energy studies, economics, political science, or related field.
Qualifications:
Excellent relationship-management skills, including stakeholder outreach and engagement
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent skills in managing logistics and/or planning external-facing virtual and in-person events
Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in compiling and analyzing publicly available data and deriving and presenting relevant insights.
Broad familiarity with, and interest in, the nexus of business and sustainability/climate. Exposure to corporate climate commitments and companies' efforts to address their greenhouse gas emissions, and basic understanding of corporate greenhouse gas inventories and market-based programs to reduce emissions.
Strong project management skills

This role is based in C2ES's office in Arlington, VA. Staff currently work in the office at least 3 days per week and work remotely approximately two days each week.
Benefits Offered:
Full Time Salary employment. Salary Range from $60,000 - $75,000 Based on experience.
