Job Description

Project Canary is a SaaS-based data analytics company focused on environmental performance or the E in ESG for energy and additional business sectors. The Business Operations Intern will be a part of the growing Operations department. The task-completion in this role is critical and must always be accurate and timely.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, track, monitor, and analyze state and federal policy initiatives and public service/utility commission (PSC/PUC) orders related to differentiated gas market development. Support the distribution of information to internal teams and identify the need for additional information on policy or legislation, and provide status updates.
  • Gather data and analyze natural gas market trends and conditions, develop reports and metrics.
  • Plan, develop and execute research to meet the needs of Project Canary.
  • Knowledge of the energy sector (production, transportation and utility) operations and associated regulatory frameworks related to natural gas and cost recovery mechanisms.
  • General knowledge of state and federal policy related to greenhouse gas emission inventories and initiatives/opportunities to reduce emissions associated with energy development, transportation and consumption.
  • Map utility-specific natural gas pipeline from certified low emission producers to utility city gates to facilitate supply-demand relationships.

Requirements

  • Third or fourth year student in university and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience reading, interpreting and analyzing legislation and regulations.
  • Skills in oral and written communication techniques and strategies, strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical ability
