About the role: 

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Global Workplace & Facilities to join our San Francisco office to build a world class facilities program supporting the Cruise portfolio. This role works closely with our Business Units, Real Estate, Project Delivery, and Supplier Partner teams to initiate and deliver the programmatic services that support our employees and the development of our product. This role will work with Cruise business leaders in understanding their needs as it relates to Cruises facilities, develop and communicate strategies, then work with Service providers in the execution of building operations, service contracts, facility projects and energy management. This role reports to the Cruise Director of Facilities, Workplace, and EHS.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure facility reliability and performance across the portfolio

  • Drive operational and process improvements that result in savings, continuous improvement, and improved productivity & efficiency

  • Create and communicate a scalable Workplace and Facilities Management vision across the entire portfolio

  • Collaborate and build effective relationships across all Business Units, departmental service lines, subject matter experts, and with third parties to ensure a positive Cruise Workplace experience

  • Create and implement the Facilities and Workplace staffing strategy model, working with third party outsourced provider(s), for Cruise's locations across multiple markets, both nationally and internationally

  • Lead Global Outsourced Partner (contractor) strategy, develop and set SLAs, maintain and validate that they are met

  • Manage and forecast all operating budgets for repairs and maintenance as well as smaller facilities projects

  • Own the annual capital planning strategy for existing sites to address appropriate investment in preventative maintenance, including continuous evaluation of asset lifecycle costs & payback

  • Oversee negotiations for all contracts and services supporting facilities and workplace operations and food services

  • Ensure that all Cruise facilities are in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including partnering with the EHS team to maintain safe work environments

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Formal supervision of Workplace and Facility Program Managers

  • Supervision of 3rd party Facilities Service Partners and Food Vendor(s)

  • Matrixed management of other Cruise Real Estate Team members

What you must have:

Education and Direct Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years experience in facilities planning, maintenance, management, and design including Engineering Excellence, FM Operations, MAC, Minor Projects, Major Project Design Input (Equipment, MEP, Workplace), Workplace Operations, and Food Operations

  • Experience with R&D, Industrial, Distribution, and Fleet as well as Office infrastructure

  • Experience with CMMS Analytics and other technology supporting Facilities Management Operations

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions

  • Proven track record of comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting complex business documents

  • Mastery of written and verbal communication skills to create business cases for project funding approvals, proven ability to write compelling reports, manuals, speeches and articles 

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups

  • Excellent management and leadership skills and the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results

  • Meticulous financial analysis and budget management skills

  • Experience in managing a capital plan and ability to assist with capital planning efforts via cost estimation

  • Experience planning and managing multiple projects across multiple geographies

  • Experience in a variety of delivery methods (i.e. build to suits, TIs)

  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time

  • Professional certifications:  CFM, CMRP, FMP, SFP, PMP, etc.

  • Direct experience in a transportation industry including electric vehicle charging and servicing
