Job Description:
Atomo Coffee is currently seeking a Head of People Operations who is passionate about building strong relationships and cultivating an inclusive workplace culture. You are an expert in your field, staying current on employment laws in various states, have experience in startup/young organizations, as well as being objective, compassionate, and discreet when handling workplace/people challenges.
The Head of People Operations will be a critical member of the leadership team at Atomo. This role will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer.
What You’ll Do:
Own the entire employee lifecycle, from interviews and hiring to exit, working with hiring managers and department heads to fulfill staffing needs
Create, train and facilitate company wide performance review processes
Provide expert knowledge in city, state, and federal employment laws
Create effective, fair and executable policies to uphold Atomo employees to the highest standards, in alignment with the company's core values as well as in compliance with city, state, and federal law.
Assist with routine to complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and collaborate with necessary leaders to recommend appropriate action to resolve the issues.
Create and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
Manage and facilitate COVID response, staying up to date of the changes and challenges the pandemic brings.
Manage budget for people operations and culture expenses
Lead the People Ops Team with integrity and clear communication
Cultivate a dynamic team that supports the organization’s mission and initiatives
Skills and Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
At least five - seven years of human resource management experience is required.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
Knowledge of WA, CA, TX, NJ, OR employment laws and regulations is required
Familiarity with international employment challenges is a plus
Compassionate, fair and personable demeanor is critical with the ability to be objective and make unbiased decisions in favor of the organization
Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, business acumen, excellent project management, problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
Experience working with Rippling employee management systems is preferred
Discretion and trustworthiness to handle confidential and sensitive information
Passion for driving Atomo’s core values into every aspect of day to day operations
This position is on-site primarily with some travel as needed.

Additional Details:Pay Range: DOE $120-$150k + Equity
