Role
You will be an essential member of our engineering team. As our developers rapidly build new carbon management solutions, you will ensure these products deploy smoothly and securely. You will be involved from initial product launch through iteration and scaling. You will actively participate in discussions about strategy, architecture, and roadmapping, fusing your engineering experience and commercial awareness. You will ensure that both our engineering team and the systems we build are running as efficiently as possible. The result of your work will be a stable and scalable carbon management platform that helps us and our partners fight the climate crisis. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage our core systems and infrastructure (currently hosted in GCP and AWS)
  • Maintain a high quality bar as we scale our team and systemsDeploy applications across production environments, finding and creating efficiencies and eliminating manual work
  • Collaborate with our development engineers to identify pain points and implement solutions to streamline our build and release processes 
  • Develop and manage monitoring systems to maintain reliability and performance within SLAs.Manage our CI/CD pipeline and other automated quality checks 
  • Maintain highly available systems. Investigate production outages, determine root causes and implement fixes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from diverse professional backgrounds (e.g., science, tech, product, …), balancing trade offs to meet our larger business and climate goals

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience with DevOps/Infrastructure/SRE
  • Experience overseeing and developing highly-available and distributed software with either GCP or AWS
  • Experience with Terraform is a huge plus
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Circle CI is a bonus
  • Experience with monitoring tools (such as CloudWatch, Data Dog, New Relic, or Sentry)
  • Coding/scripting experience in at least one language (Python, Bash, Java, …).
  • Experience with JavaScript is a bonus
  • Networking experience is a plus

  • Experience working in the climate technology space is a strong plus.

Compensation: $120,000-$160,000*range covers multiple levels, as determined throughout the course of the interview process
