The RoleWe are looking for an Information Technology Manager to direct, implement, and manage IT-oriented strategic plans, business applications, policies, programs, technology support services, network communication, cybersecurity, and business intelligence systems to accomplish business goals and objectives.  This is a great role for someone looking to play a leadership role at a fast-growing PE backed business. This role will report to our Controller, and while we have an extensive IT team, this will be our first in house IT role.  The role is based in Ridgewood, NJ.  

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Recommends and develops short and long-term IT strategy and plans for systems implementation, IT service management and operations, and staffing to accomplish business objectives including support growth of the company’s operational footprint.
  • Manages coordination of technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, 3rd party vendor management, and data connectivity throughout the company.
  • Executing, as well as guiding 3rd party providers in evaluating, procuring, and maintaining all technology hardware and software and other products and supplies necessary to keep data, voice, and security, systems operable
  • Develops, implements, and monitors IT & cybersecurity systems policies, and controls to ensure data accuracy, information security, asset tracking control, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors policies and controls to assure project priority, technology use, and return on investment goals are being met throughout the organization.
  • Develops, maintains, and oversees backup and disaster recovery (DR)/business continuity plans (BCP). Manages institutional risk related to data storage and security.
  • Manages employees overall IT experience, ranging from ensuring onboarding and offboarding is managed appropriately, to serving as the point person when emergency and critical issues come up
  • Identifies additional resources needed to establish and support the technology infrastructure as the business matures. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and career development of employees or contractors; planning, assigning, and directing work. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience working as an IT professional (consulting or industry) with exposure to application implementations, cloud & infrastructure, and IT security
  • Proven IT leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Extensive background in various business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, etc.)
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships
  • Experience driving process improvement projects
  • Effectively sets goals, manages projects and project teams, and analyzes results
  • Professional, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field
