Job Description

Data Analyst

Team: Product Engineering

Location: Remote - Australia

Who We Are:

We are a climate tech company committed to reversing climate change. How do we reach this lofty goal? By disrupting the agriculture industry!

Founded by globally-recognized innovators in science and ag technology, Regrow is unlocking the power and profitability of resilient agriculture across the supply chain — from growers to global food brands. Regrow combines best-in-class agronomy, soil and carbon modeling, and innovative data collection to deliver customized, site-specific and scalable solutions to the agri-food industry.

Our customers are frontrunners in agri-food and agtech, ranging from global market operators, project developers, global food brands, and independent farmers. We help partners measure their impact on the environment, model and implement changes that will be environmentally and financially sustainable, and track partners’ progress against sustainability goals.

We're backed by leading investors, such as Galvanize Climate Solutions, Microsoft's Venture Fund, Cargill, The Grantham Environmental Trust (NCO), AJAX Strategies, and more, all of whom believe in our vision to change the world through resilient agriculture.

Our Mission:

Agriculture has the power to reverse climate change. We believe science and technology can help us get there.

Our goal is to use farmland to cool the earth. We are currently monitoring 200 million acres of land in over 45 countries. This year alone, with just one project, our carbon emissions reductions are equivalent to taking 17,000 cars off the road! We are already on our way to a more sustainable planet.

Job Summary

This role will work closely with Product, Engineering and Science to surface insights about our customers and organisational performance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of SQL. Data visualisation skills and a working knowledge of Python would be highly advantageous.

What you will do:

  • Help our customer success team extract data
  • Help our customers visualise their data
  • Bring insights to the product and engineering team to help us make better data driven product decisions and understand the impact of our decisions.
  • Explore tables, write queries, construct dashboards and run ad-hoc reports as appropriate to achieve the above outcomes.
  • Be responsible for providing ad hoc reporting for the customer-facing team

Required qualifications:

The successful candidate must have all these listed skills.

  • Advanced SQL and data exploration skills. An ability to craft queries to interrogate data.
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports with data visualisation tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI, Metabase, Superset
  • Excellent data visualisation skills - use visuals to provide meaningful insights
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility
  • A willingness and genuine desire to understand more about our product and the science behind it. (We don’t expect you to be a soil scientist or an agronomist! But being willing and able to learn what data we gather for our product and carbon models, and why, will be necessary for success in this role, as it you enable you to be more proactive)

Desirable qualifications

The successful candidate will have some of these skills, but does not need to have all of them in order to qualify.

  • Statistical modelling
  • Experience with Big Data query engines such as ShowFlake, Redshift, Clickhouse
