About Us: GreenBiz.org is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization working to nurture and empower Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) professionals to accelerate a just transition to a clean economy. We are seeking to cultivate a vibrant ecosystem of individuals, organizations, and communities working symbiotically to transform our field culturally and dismantle environmental injustice.

About the Role: We are seeking a Program Manager to run our Emerging Leaders program that aims to elevate, cultivate and support the next generation of BIPOC leaders in the climate community. This position requires a dynamic, self-starter who enjoys developing programming for and engaging with early-career professionals as they grow and develop in their roles. Further, a successful Program Manager will also engage with GreenBiz.org leadership, corporate sustainability professionals, funders, and other key stakeholders to build a high-impact program. 

Position Details: This is a full-time position, starting immediately, that offers a competitive salary ($90,000 - $120,000) and benefits package. Some domestic travel is required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the Emerging Leaders program in collaboration with GreenBiz.org leadership and board, funders, and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinate the selection of Emerging Leaders for each of four GreenBiz in-person events throughout the year, including all communications and coordination with the finalists
  • Work with the GreenBiz events team to coordinate programmatic activities for Emerging Leaders at GreenBiz events
  • Work with the GreenBiz marketing and editorial teams to coordinate outreach and editorial stories by, for, or about Emerging Leaders
  • Develop, actively manage and promote a LinkedIn group as an online hub for the Emerging Leaders Community
  • Coordinate the production of a periodic newsletter sent to the Emerging Leaders community as well as to sponsors and other stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison to past, present, and prospective Emerging Leaders
  • Coordinate and host periodic webinars for the Emerging Leaders community, including suggesting topics and guest speakers as well as marketing via social media and other channels
  • Participate in fundraising calls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an environmental or social impact field, or 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit in the development of high-impact program development
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with input from various stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to cultivate a dynamic and fluid work environment with a distributed, virtual team
  • Ability to work independently, at times with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and ownership of responsibilities
  • Quick thinking, learning, and problem-solving abilities
  • Travel to a minimum of four GreenBiz conferences per year
  • Prior experience developing environmental and social justice programs in NGO/nonprofit, philanthropic, and governmental environments preferred.
