Early-Stage Climate Focused Startup Seeking REC Lead
Overview: GreenGrid, Inc., a new startup at the intersection of climate and blockchain, seeks a Renewable Energy Certificate Lead to oversee the company’s REC strategy and related relationships and input on REC product development.
Company: GreenGrid is creating a new market related to renewable energy production, leveraging blockchain technology and tokenization. The business is currently in an early stage, but based on a lot of feedback the idea is sound, the market is huge, and there are currently no other companies targeting the same niche. GreenGrid has a proof-of-concept underway, outsourced blockchain development is ongoing, a patent application has been filed, and hiring has begun.
In addition to its climate mission, the company is focused on social and economic impact. It is incorporated as a Delaware Public Benefits Corporation and will apply for B Corp status. Founder & CEO: CEO has previously had a very successful exit in another industry, has served on numerous boards, and worked in private equity. He is a former U.S. Marine officer, a McKinsey alumnus, and is a graduate of Wharton, Harvard, and Georgetown.
