Additional information

  • The working schedule will include remote work and travel
  • The expected salary for this position is between $140,000 and $189,000. Factors that may be used to determine final salary offered include relevant experience, skills, location, qualifications and other factors, consistent with applicable law.
  • This position is eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Position Summary

The VP of Capital Markets will play a critical role in all aspects of CleanCapital’s project financing strategy, including the sourcing, structuring, and execution of tax equity, construction debt, and term debt (including private placements) for the Company’s portfolio of DG solar and storage assets. The VP may also assist in any corporate debt and equity capital raising efforts. This position will initially report to the Director, Capital Markets. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Work with CleanCapital’s Acquisition team to identify financing requirements 
  • Independently develop confidential information memoranda and financial models with minimal oversight
  • Manage third-party legal counsel and consultants related to project financing efforts (e.g., insurance consultant, independent engineers, etc.)
  • Manage administrative parts of financing process, including but not limited to initial outreach and tracking, note taking, creation and maintenance of virtual data rooms and coordination of due diligence Q&A
  • Support negotiation of financing terms with counterparties 
  • Provide tax equity and debt assumptions for project valuations
  • Manage CleanCapital’s tax equity and debt financial models
  • Support the Asset Management team in preparing reports and compliance certificates for financing parties

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative major (e.g., economics, finance, math, physics, etc.) preferred
  • MBA degree is a plus

Technical Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or other comparable principal investment or project finance related roles
  • The following are strongly preferred but not required skills:
    • Renewable power (solar, wind, battery energy storage) experience 
    • Track record of structuring and closing project financings, including tax equity
    • Prior experience reviewing and negotiating financing documents 
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including creation of new models, as well as modification and auditing of existing models
  • Excellent PowerPoint presentation abilities, both development and delivery
